Is there no OF in Scranton that can hit better than .110 like Robinson? That said, Yanks are stroking it today! I have no idea McGroom isn't getting a chance. McBroom! may not be getting a chance to play but he's still contributing in other ways such as sealing the sweep for us! McBroom!

Gray sure never makes things easy. That's because he's terrible. He WILL NOT throw a strike on an 0-2 or1-2 count. Nibbles, then falls behind. Surprising he is ever under 100 pithes after 5 innings. But, he gets out of it today and the Yanks win big for the sweep. So, good day for all--except Robinson, of course.

Hicks now has his OBP up to .370! Just pencil him into the leadoff spot. He's seeing the ball well right now.

He needs to subtract when he gets ahead, because he can't hump up successfully.

@lindseyadler Aaron Boone says Didi Gregorius's heel bruise is "pretty significant" and there's a chance he could hit the DL.
-----
Ugh, huge loss if true.

Sometimes baseball seems to be a war of attrition than anything else. I suppose that to be one of the expectations when you have a long and heavy-scheduled season...

I would assume that Torres will move over to play SS on the short term...Torreyes at second may be a better choice than Walker, but I expect we'll see a generous dose of Walker at 2B...Neither one excites me with bat or glove...

What about Torreyes .320 average is not appealing?

What about Torreyes .320 average is not appealing? All singles, never walks, unsustainable .320 average in my opinion...I don't hate the little dude, I'm just being factual...I think he's a capable AAAA player and a marginal MLB player. There are several things I like about Torreyes: Popular with team mates Hustler Overcame the odds to even make it to MLB due to his size Contact hitting Good speed Versatility Can lift Aaron Judge (sort of) And yes, I did say I would prefer him over Walker at 2B (mostly because I think Walker has lost any semblance of range that he ever had there...Ronald is about average there, I believe...not bad for a reserve). He sort of reminds me of Homer Bush, on whom I just did a thread in that he has a .284 life time average, but his lack of pop and patience holds his OPS down to 83+. Because Bush could steal bases, I would have liked him better as a starting 2B than I would Torreyes. Other than that, put them both in a bag and shake it and you have about the same level of talent. They make much better reserves than starters on winning teams...
