The Rockies missed an extra point conversion today and lost to the Padres 14-13. But that’s just today. Yesterday the Rockies got two TD and only allowed one when they beat the Padres 14-8. On Friday, both teams relied heavily on their field goal units, but the Padres rode their lone TD to a 16-12 win. On Thursday it was all defense and FGs as the Rockies won 9-6.
A modern day record for a 4 games series 92 runs crossed the plate off 131 hits. That includes 15 by Charlie Blackmon, known to be a record for a 4 game series since at least 1900..,
I’m really hankering to see a 1-0 Yankee victory right about now, but somehow I’m not expecting it...

Blackmon raised his average from .305 to .332 in the series...I hate to think of what happened to some ERAs...

Scherzer with a grotesque purple lump from his broken nose but shutting out the Phillies through six. Tough dude.

On one hand, I don't want to see the young man struggle. On the other hand, I don't want to feel like we gave up someone who goes on to have a good career either.

On one hand, I don't want to see the young man struggle. On the other hand, I don't want to feel like we gave up someone who goes on to have a good career either. It’s okay with me if some of these kids do go on to have good careers. In fact to a degree it’s desirable. If the Yankees get a reputation for fleecing our trade partners there will be less interest in our prospects, or the price paid for the talent we seek will become ever higher. The main thing I want to see is that we get good value in return. We typically will want quick return for a limited number of seasons in exchange for developing or ready talent that our trade partners can rely on for the longer term. That’s fair, and will constitute good trades. I don’t read failure into the Sheffield performance. I read that he was being rushed, so it’s time to take a step back so he can develop properly. The one concern I would have is if he’s trying to conceal an injury... I

Sounds like a great way to have no fans in two cities. This was tried in the NBA in I believe the early 70s with the Kansas City-Omaha Kings. It worked so well that they wound up in Sacramento.
And those cities were much closer. Tampa already has enough problems drawing people. ]Sounds like a first step to moving the franchise to Montreal.

Sounds like a great way to have no fans in two cities. Indeed. Who was the genius who thought of this idea?
