Lineup looks a little different: I like McCutchen at the top...I’d like to see Hicks # 2 and Stanton 3rd. I question the wisdom of planting Sanchez in the #5 slot right away, and even more so because Torres has been hot lately. I think it’s safe to say that if I had the privilege of filling out the lineup card for the Yankees, my lineups would often differ from Boone’s...

I will never understand the whole 9-1 thing 2 leadoff hitters whatever theory.

I will never understand the whole 9-1 thing 2 leadoff hitters whatever theory. I don't get why Hicks isn't leading off, I wasn't expecting McCutchen there.

My guess is that Hicks is hitting for more power so they like him deeper in the lineup and maybe they’re thinking McCutchen’s primary value is getting on base. Hard to tell what Boone is thinking with his lineup construction sometimes.

The Yankees have to lead the league in giving up infield hits. Two already in the first inning.

Not exactly the way you want to start a ballgame.

Good job getting out of that with just one run.

McCutchen transitions seamlessly into the Yankee batting order.

Sánchez hit it hard and ran hard. Good sign that he’s feeling better.

Sanchez is demonstrably thinner.
