Severino "checked out fine by our doctors," says Girardi. They were just being cautious.

I was really surprised they sent him. 2nd and third would have been a great situation for them there particularly after 2 really hard hit balls off of Chapman who wasn't fooling anyone. Wasn't as weird a decisions as Gardner going for 3rd but still strange. Unfortunately it worked. It would have been first and third, as soon as the baserunner at first reads Altuve making the turn at third then he releases to second. You might be right. I'd have to see if he ran all the way or horn. Either way it surprised me he went, even as fast as he is. Maybe not a great decision by Altuve but it worked for them unfortunately. The season hangs on Carsten Charles Monday night.

It really isn't the DH has been a black hole and romine is a better defender. I don't think Romine is a better catcher than Sanchez. He blocks balls in the dirt better but Sanchez is a better thrower and pitch framer. The Yanks can't overreact to a small sample size. I agree that Romine isn't a better all-around catcher, because if he was he wouldn't be on the bench. Defensively, Sanchez certainly has the better arm, but I disagree that he frames pitches well, or rather better than Romine. Romine is the better overall receiver in my opinion but neither reminds me of Bench, Munson, or even Cervelli. I think the point is with no production from DH, would Sanchez be better offensively if he weren't catching? He'd certainly be less fatigued. And, Romine would do no worse offensively than the DH position thus far. It's a minor point, rather than some apoplectic reaction. That was my thinking at least.

Actually, it's not a bad idea. It really isn't the DH has been a black hole and romine is a better defender. Sanchez is top 10 in baseball defensively. Romine is below average defensively. In what world is Romine the better catcher?

Sorry if I was using the wrong wording. I am really bad at judging defense and sabremetrics and all that stuff. When I see all those passed balls/wild pitches its always hard for me to judge whether its on the catcher or pitchers fault because I don't really understand it. I just think Sanchez might get his offense back on track if they DHed him a game and Romine in a small sample hopefully would be able to get a hit or two. Sanchez just looks fatigued to me. Plus like I said the DH has literally been an automatic out so far.

Plus the joe buck announcing annoys me to no end. I’m only 5-6 myself but I don’t think that makes me the second coming of babe Ruth. Also I’ve seen Headley and Ellsbury do fine in stints this year I was at the game against the rays where Headley hit a hr its just he seems to play better when he is also on defense but once bird came back that put him in the dh role and Headley hasn’t been the same since. And no I do not want Headley on the field.
I have no problem admitting defeat when I feel the other team is better but baserunning mistakes and sloppy play in the field is hard to swallow because the team is beating themselves at that point.

Exactly. That's what makes these first two losses so frustrating. We've held the league's best offense to two runs each game and we've still lost both games.

Yea it’s annoying well only good thing here is I think the Yankees have the advantage the next two at home and the pitching matchups. If they can beat keuchel in game 5 they will have a load of confidence going back to Houston because keuchel won’t be starting game 7 if there is one. One game at a time though. I agree. Nothing irks me more than bad announcers. I feel the Yes crew for the most part is rational and even though they are the yankee network they seem to research the other team pretty well and don't gush over players on either side too often. They know when to give credit and if some stupid play is made they don't hesitate to analyze it and don't try sugarcoating crap. The whole altuve and pedroia thing just irritate the hell out of me. Of course every game that fox or espn does that they gush over a specific player they always seem to have an amazing game on top of it. They didn't even make that big of a deal over that error yesterday.

He's annoyed the shit out of me for years! With his stupid smug attitude and punchable face. I could write paragraphs on how I hate Joe Buck, but I'll spare you. Luckily, I'll miss him Monday because I am going to the game! Wooooooooot! Undefeated so far in all my games this year! And I've seen 5 Aaron Judge HRs in three games! When a forum member goes to the game, we can't lose!
