Um, no. This is playoff baseball. He needed to be taken out. If the Yankees make the WS Betances should be left off of the roster. Well he has to be now. But he won’t be, taking away a valuable roster spot and losing a potential impact pitcher. At 8-0, fixing Betances is the biggest priority. If not, don’t put him in the game. Of course he can’t pitch effectively when he knows if he isn’t perfect he is going to get yanked. Perfect? He threw only two strikes, nothing else was even close. How many batters was he supposed to walk before being removed?

Girardi is really damaging Betances here. It’s 8-0, not 3-0. Let him give up 3 or 4 runs and work his way out of this. You can’t yank him at the first sign of trouble in a blowout and expect him to ever be an effective pitcher. I don't think the ALCS is the time to let Betances work things out, Girardi has more important things to worry about. Then don’t put him in the game. At 8-0 a position player pitching still would give you a 95% win probability. If you aren’t prepared to let Betances work things out in that situation, he can’t be on the roster. Every time you put him in with the quick hook he becomes even more mentally unhinged. He was no worse than Kahnle tonight, who was allowed to work out of trouble. That is going to have a significant effect on him.

Betances had no control of either pitch.

That’s got to be it for Betances this season. Whatever is wrong isn’t getting fixed right now.

The Yanks need to find some pitching guru to work with Betances during the off season because he's too talented to throwing like this.

Betances had no control of either pitch. He never does, until he suddenly finds it. That’s how Betances always works himself out of these funks. If he had been left in the game and struck out the next 3 batters on 9 pitches, no one would have been truly shocked. That’s the madness of Betances. If 8-0 isn’t the appropriate time to let him try and work things out, don’t put him in the game.

That's it then. The GPS mechanism that controls Betances pitches is in the head of James McCann. We kidnap him and take him to a remote village in a country so remote that no one knows it exists, cut his head open, remove the mechanism, send it to Betances in the mail. Then we replace that in McCanns' head with...I don't know...you figure that one out...

ALRIGHT YOU KNOW THE THREAD WOULDN'T BE COMPLETE WITH THE KAYBLI AT THE GAME SUMMARY! JUST GOT BACK TO MY FRIENDS PLACE IN HOBOKEN!!! SO NERVOUS AT THE START OF THE GAME!!! WORSE NERVES THAN THE WILD CARD GAME I WENT TO. MORTON SEEMED TO HAVE GOOD STUFF IN THE FIRST FEW INNINGS BUT CASTRO WITH THE SWINGING BUNT AND CASHMAN'S GUY WITH THE BLOOPER SET UP FRAZIER!!! AND DID YOU SEE THE PITCH HE HIT OUT??? WAY LOW AND OUTSIDE BUT HE MANAGED TO GO THE OTHER WAY JUST OVER THE WALL!!! IT WOULDNT HAVE BEEN A HR IN ANY OTHER STADIUM ACCORDING TO MLB TONIGHT!!!! 3-0 YANKS BAM!!!! ALMOST AS BIG WAS CC GETTING OUT OF THE BASES LOADED THE NEXT INNING! THEN IT TURNED TO THE AARON JUDGE SHOW AS HE SAVED A SURE TRIPLE IN RF!!!THEN A BLOWN PLAY BY MAYBIN LEADS TO A BIRD DOUBLE! A WILD PITCH!!! AND UP CAME JUDGE. DONT KNOW WHY THEY DIDN'T THROW HIM BREAKING PITCHES AWAY. BUT HE GOT A HIGH FASTBALL AND NAILED IT TO LEFT FIELD!!!! WOOOOOOT WOOOOOOT!!!!! 8-0 AND BALLGAME!!!!!! THE ONLY OTHER MINOR CONCERN WAS BETANCES BEING BETANCES AND HAVING TO HAVE KAHNLE CLOSE IT OUT!! MIGHT BE BAD WITH THREE GAMES IN A ROW HAVING TO USE KAHNLE TODAY!!! BUT IN END YOU CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE PERFORMANCES FROM CC AND JUDGE. BOTH CAME UP HUGE TODAY!! GRAY IS GOING TO HAVE TO COME UP BIG TOMORROW AS WELL!

Warren does the job in the eighth. Hey, we've got to talk Kaybli into spending some more dough to attend the game tomorrow! My friend and I were seriously thinking of going to the game tomorrow too. But logistically because of the 5 pm start time we can't do it because he has work tomorrow and can't get out.
