For anyone at the game tonight, would you say it sounded like a road game out there? Best post on the new forum. Yes, blue, I was at the game and it did indeed sound like a road game out there! There were exactly 40.9783% Astros fans! The atmosphere on my flight from Minneapolis was exactly like a road game. Complete apathy. That flight just hasn’t been the same since they built the new stadium. Empty seats in first class, people just don’t care about baseball. Thanks Lonn Trost! |

He’s been a great acquisition. That trade with the White Sox, man. Yea, you can't underestimate how huge that HR was. Took the pressure of the Yanks and put it on the Astros. That trade has worked out so great with the White Sox. Another great move from Cashman. Now its up to Sonny Gray today to make Cashman look good again! |

I dunno if anyone of you have been to ac in a while but they seriously have TVs now on the same screen that shows the table betting minimums and rules for each game. So that was convenient. Anyway right after the game ends I’m on the money wheel and my mom and aunt keep winning like 5-25 dollar prizes this guy comes along with his friend. They are both decked out in yankee clothes. He has one of those yankee shirts with judges Name in the back. He says he is an expert on money wheels. First spin he bets 10 dollars on the 5 and the peg gets stuck between the 5 and the 1 so he loses. He then lectures how that should be a respin. So of course the dealer won’t respin. So he says ok you don’t want to play fair I’m going for big. He puts 10 bucks on the 45 to 1 it comes out. The dealer is in such shock he gets the pit boss and the pit boss isn’t happy. They give him the money. He wins 450 dollars. Loses the next spin on the 2 dollar space again by one peg then he bets 10 on the 45 again. It comes out again! He wins another 450. The pit boss comes over again. This time he gives him the dirtiest look and says you better tip so they give him the 450 again and he tips them 25 dollars. So in 4 spins he bet 40 dollars total and won 875. Then my mom says to him and the Yankees won as well so you are having a great night. So he tells my mom he bet the over on the yankee game which was a combined 8.5 runs between the two teams and the garbage run Houston scored in the 9th made the total 9 which means he won again. Between the wheel and the Yankees he won over 1000 dollars in the span of 20 minutes.

Girardi is really damaging Betances here. It’s 8-0, not 3-0. Let him give up 3 or 4 runs and work his way out of this. You can’t yank him at the first sign of trouble in a blowout and expect him to ever be an effective pitcher. I don't think the ALCS is the time to let Betances work things out, Girardi has more important things to worry about. But he is on the roster at this point one way or another so unless you make up a fake injury you are playing a man short unless he can figure it out. Your chances of blowing an 8 run lead in a single inning are about as low as it gets so you are in a position to give him more than two batters. |
