Gray's splits away from Yankee Stadium: 3.17 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 9.9 K/9. i think his salary would be a big issue. Gray? He made 6.5 m last year.

i think his salary would be a big issue. Gray? He made 6.5 m last year. I thought he meant Bauer, but he made about the same amount as Gray...Talk about a difference in value!!! Anyway, Id give Torres the benefit of the doubt at SS if we could put Kipnis at 2B. Torres is a year older, and should be able to learn a lot from his experience at SS last season. Long term he projects as a plus defender at either position...We'll pay for it a few times, but if he hits I could "settle", especially if the team would sign Hechavarria so they could put him at SS for late inning defense, slide Torres back to second...Those poor BABIPs that Kipnis posted the last two seasons give me hope for a revival...(.256 and .258)...

i think his salary would be a big issue. Gray? He made 6.5 m last year. Yes. And maybe I'm wrong, but I think he's expected to cost $9mil in 2019. The main point, in any case, is that Cleveland is looking to dump salary. Dumping Kipnis' salary is, apparently, a big concern. Taking on Gray would cut big time into any savings. FWIW, I think taking on Kipnis for one year would be well worth it to obtain Bauer. Asshole, or not, Bauer was one of the best pitchers in the game in 2018 and is young enough to do that again and again. Add him (AND Happ?) and you'd have the best Yankees rotation in 20 years. Kipnis hasn't been good for two years but, hey, he IS still young enough to bounce back. Can Bauer be had without giving up Andujar or Florial? How about a package of Loaisiga/Frazier/A-ball kid for Bauer/Kipnis?

Bauer. I don’t really think he’s a bad guy. He’s just very quiet and more than a little eccentric. He has his own training regimen, and keeps to himself, not much of a sense of humor. I even heard last year he went through the clubhouse asking the Indians players how he could be more likeable. So he’s not looking for fights, he just doesn’t have good social skills...
