Imagine Met fan's reaction if they traded Thor to the Yankees.

Remaining Free Agent position players of interest and how they could fit, any why not.
Manny Machado- Big power bat, played SS in 2018. On the negative side, will be expensive, average at best afield at SS. Will need to move to third before the season is over.
Pedro Alvarez- Big power and pull hitter at 1B. Former 30+ HR hitter could be “lightning in a bottle” surprise. Will be a cheap option. On the negative, low batting average has relegated him to AAA for much of last two seasons in Orioles organization.
Lucas Duda- Power-hitter from left side that plays an average defensive game at 1B. On the negative side, has seen his batting average tumble the past couple of seasons.
Daniel Murphy- Lefty batter hit .299 while injured last season and only one year removed from consecutive 40+ doubles seasons with 20+ HR. Has played a poor 2B and some 1B in each of the past 2 seasons. Negatives: Not much range at 2B.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much but I am feeling a little excited now.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much but I am feeling a little excited now. Don’t get too giddy yet. We could wind up with Matz or Wheeler...Or even the proverbial lump of coal as this dries up and blows away... But I’m intrigued too, I must admit... Imagine if we pulled this off and still got Kluber in another deal... Screw Manny... we won’t need but one or two runs a game... (: (Talk about getting prematurely giddy)...

I'm thinking if the Yankees can pull off some sort of a deal where they get a front of the rotation starter, there will be far less pressure to go after Machado. If they settle for Lynn or some other fringe scrub and don't sign Machado we will undoubtedly start hearing the cheap skate rumblings in the media extensively and questions on how serious the team is with regard fielding a team that can catch Boston.

Just read on CBS.com that the Rangers are offering Jose LeClerc on the market. Last year he fanned 85 in 57 2/3 innings while only allowing 24 hits. He was 12 for 12 in save opps after winning the closer’s job late in the season. He’s only 24...

Guess I’ll go to bed now, but it’s a little like not knowing what night Santa Clause May drop down the chimney with Weather Guard Floor Mats, etc... (Hopefully that instead of Steven Matz)...or Trevor Bauer instead of a set of Eddie Bauer ear muffs...Corey Kluber instead of Klubber Lange...The God of Thunder, Thor instead of... just about anything else...

From rotoworld:
Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports that the Yankees are "pushing hard" to make a trade with the Mets. It's been reported that the Mets, Yankees and Marlins are discussing a three-way trade that would send J.T. Realmuto to the Mets and likely Noah Syndergaard to the Yankees. Martino says that the Yanks are interested in the Mets' pitching and it's "not necessarily limited to Syndergaard." Joel Sherman of the New York Post is hearing that while the Mets are working on multiple scenarios trying to land Realmuto, the one involving the Yankees "is not among the strongest." There might still be more to this story soon, so hang tight.

I wonder if we have the prospects to make anything like that happen unless Andujar is added, which hence might mean an imminent Machado signing..😎

Interesting but hard to know if it means anything. I would imagine teams talk about all sorts of things at their Winter meetings. Doesn’t sound like the Yankees are the ones driving this.

I'd agree they're not driving it. More like Cashman sitting in a corner saying, please, oh pretty please with sugar on it, Santa. I've been a good boy...

Great pitchers & catchers go hand and hand.

If we sign Manny boy, then we could go with a defense first SS...Iglasias, Hechavarria...both wizards in the field...and ho-hum at the plate...
