Chase Headley - 3B - Yankees
Chase Headley went 3-for-4 with a run scored in the Yankees 5-0 victory over the Astros on Wednesday in Game 5 of the ALCS.
Per Andrew Simon of MLB.com, it's the first time that a DH has ever had a multi-hit game while hitting ninth in a playoff game. The more you know. Headley appears to be figuring some things out, and it's another example of why there is no automatic out in this lineup. Unless the pitchers bat in the World Series, anyway.

Tommy Kahnle - R - Yankees Tommy Kahnle recorded the last six outs for the Yankees in their 5-0 victory over the Astros on Wednesday in Game 5 of the ALCS. Kahnle has been an unsung hero for the Yankees this postseason. In his 10 playoff innings, he's yet to allow a run, and he's struck out nine while walking just two in that time frame. Aroldis Chapman is still the guy who is going to pitch the ninth in save situations, but Kahnle is a very good bridge to get them to him. He should be available to pitch in Game 6 on Friday. Kahnle might be the best piece we got from the White Sox in that deal.

Right now Kahnle and Robertson are the only reason the Yankees are able to survive the bad case of heebee jeebees that Delin Betances is suffering...Is it Steve Blass disease? Is it a recurring slump? Is it a nightmare? Will it cost him his place on the Yankees this winter? He apparently has no control over the situation...No control! Get it??? Seriously, I hope he can climb the mountain he needs to so he can return to dominance, but I'm having my doubts...His was a career that almost never developed, like that of Andrew Brackman. To think, at one time we hoped that Betances and Brackman might have been starting pitchers in this return to the post season...along with Brien Taylor, who would have been a veteran of several seasons by now, too. The Yankee way has changed dramatically, and along with the change has come a new brand of success...

Frazier, despite the bad first couple of weeks here during which there were calls that he be cut, has been such an important presence during this run...both on the field with his bat/glove and in the clubhouse. I'd love to see him come back next year.

Tried to come back as an outfielder, I think. Rick Ankiel or something like that ? Oh, and wouldn't Brien Taylor be like 45 years old now?

Sad to say, but the Yankees also had one that lost the plate and never found it, too... Sam Militello was his name...If you never heard of him, or had forgotten about him, look at those minor league numbers from 1990-1992, and then look at the numbers he put up post-injury as he attempted to comeback. You might cry for him a little bit. I did. I really believed he was going to be "the one"... *edit: Sorry I thought I was making a link to Baseball reference there, but it doesn't seem to be working...look him up if you dare...It's frightening... And yes, I confess. Brien Taylor would have been 45 this year...But who's to say he wouldn't have been seeking victory #400 this year if he had made it???
