"What are you doing here? Get back on the bus" "When infielder Thairo Estrada entered the Yankees’ clubhouse at Camden Yards with his equipment bag late Wednesday afternoon and was assigned a locker between Aaron Judge and Didi Gregorius, it was easy to believe Gleyber Torres was headed to the injured list with a core problem that forced him out of Tuesday night’s game after two at-bats. Yet, when the Yankees got word that a series of tests that included an MRI exam on Wednesday in New York didn’t unearth a serious injury, Torres was en route to Camden Yards and Estrada sent back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre." nypost.com/2019/08/07/yankees-gleyber-torres-kept-off-il-in-weird-turn-of-events/

Has to be frustrating, but you have to just accept it...(Note, Clint Frazier. And Estrada has outplayed you on both sides of the ball)..,

why not use torres and not put him on the DL? The minimum IL stay is 10 days. They expect to use him sooner than that, perhaps even as a ph...

I thought they could backdate it so you came off sooner.
If he could pinch hit pinch hitting in the 9th for Ford would make a lot of sense no ?

He is batting .188. I am not talking about Torres starting, just batting in the 9th when we just needed a run. This is what I was talking about Players may be placed on the 10-day injured list "retroactively," meaning the stint is backdated to the day after the last date on which the player appeared in a game. For instance, if a pitcher is diagnosed with elbow inflammation on June 4 after feeling soreness during his June 1 start, he could be placed on the 10-day injured list on June 4, retroactive to June 2. In that case, he would be eligible to return from the injured list on June 12. m.mlb.com/glossary/injuries/10-day-injured-list

First Holder and now Tarpley. Boone overextends both these relievers and they both end up on the IL, what a shocker.

That puts the Yankees body bag count up to 27 players and 34 trips to the IL. I do think Boone is in a tough spot simply piecing together nine innings of pitching without using the big five on an almost daily basis. At a time when a starter is considered to have done his job if he can give you five mediocre innings, this is going to happen.
Within a few years, pitching staffs will be radically realigned so that maybe on a 13-14 man staff, nobody pitches more than about three innings but no more one inning guys either to spread the workload. But we're still in the transition stage.
Valera has not been impressive in his admittedly brief trial.

Okay, I see Lail and Mantiply have been put on the 25 man roster. I am already looking forward to Noetsi's confusion when they enter a game.
Tarpley had an 8.24 ERA in 19 2/3 IP, so it won't be that hard to replace those numbers.
