….is Meredith saying the ball was coming out of his hand good?...……... That's some detailed reporting. I’ve never heard a negative report on the way a ball was coming out of a pitcher’s hand. “I don’t know. I would go to throw and the ball, it just kind of felt like it was sticking to my hand, you know”?...

Clemens used to say the ball was coming out of his hand really good after every game when he got his ass kicked. One of many things I did not enjoy about that sad chapter of Yankees history.

Clemens used to say the ball was coming out of his hand really good after every game when he got his ass kicked. One of many things I did not enjoy about that sad chapter of Yankees history. Did he also say, “The needle went into my ass very smoothly, so I thought I’d get better results today for the money I spent yesterday”?...

nypost.com/2019/08/12/luke-voit-is-convinced-hes-not-making-the-same-injury-mistake/Since going on the injured list a little less than two weeks ago with a sports hernia, Luke Voit said he “feels pretty much back to normal” after working out and running sprints prior to the Yankees’ doubleheader against the Orioles on Monday. There’s a possibility Voit will need surgery in the offseason, but he’s optimistic about avoiding it right now. However, there is still no timeline for when Voit will return to the lineup. The first baseman said the next step will be to hit on Tuesday for the first time since suffering the injury while continuing to get back into baseball shape. “I think the hitting part will be easy,” Voit said. “Obviously, my timing and everything will be a big thing. Sprinting was the biggest thing for me and today it felt really good. I got good work in last week and everything is pointing in the right direction.” Coming into Monday’s doubleheader, Voit has been out of the lineup for 12 games after returning from his previous stint on the IL that sidelined him for seven games from June 29-July 13. Voit admitted he was anxious to return after the All-Star break and probably could’ve used an extra week or two instead of returning when he did. He said he convinced himself he’d be able to work back to feeling 100 percent while playing, but things progressively got worse. Aaron Boone says he’ll be watching Voit’s progression and will probably give him a couple of rehab games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre if everything goes well with his recovery. Boone said Voit believes he feels the best he has since the injury occurred in London. Voit exited a game on July 30 against the Diamondbacks in the fifth inning and had an MRI exam that night. He was promptly placed on the IL the following day. He received a cortisone shot Aug. 2 before he ran for the first time Thursday.

Don't you hate when you're all ready to do something and then something unexpected happens and your plans just change? Kind of like when you draft a kid with the first pick and then after that his dad says no, I think he's going to UCLA after all. Stinks when that happens.

When does Severino return? The Yankees don't even know this, let alone anyone on this board. When we finally see him pitching in minor league games, we will know he's close.
