Well boys, it was a fun season. Unfortunately, unless you win the World Series, they all end in some kind of disappointment. I'm still proud of our guys. Thank you for joining me on the board. It was fun while it lasted. That is true I just hate that feeling when it feels like they beat themselves. Getting dominated is one thing but when it comes to a close play here or there not going your way it’s definitely more hard to swallow especially since it’s a lot harder now to get this far over a long period of time. In the nba we almost can guarentee the warriors and cavs at the least will be in the conference finals. You can’t say that in baseball. It’s such a small window now compared to years ago. Seems like a good team gets maybe 3-4 years to be in the championship series and or World Series then they fall off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Can you imagine? I remember it like I was yesterday. The Mets were in the nlcs against the cardinals. Beltran got that called strike 3 and I went online to find out how much outrage there was and I found their scout forum. After seeing that chaos I joined the jets forum which they finished 4-12 and man those guys were the most doom and gloom people Ever. So once the 2007 season started I came here and some random game in April I posted a game thread and I don’t remember who it was but they said something along the lines of “wow a new member and he has the lineup ready what a combination.” I don’t remember who said that to me but whoever it was it def left an impression for me to keep coming back. So what’s better pounding your chest and raging in correctness against your own teams inablity to score or hoping for the best and seeing what happens. I agree in life that being a realist is better but being a realist for a sports team outcome in the most unpredictable sport? That’s a bit much. This isn’t the nba. When the cavs play the 76ers in the first round we know the 76ers aren’t winning that series. As we saw in this series baseball is a game of bad bounces or inches one way or the other. That doesn’t happen in any other sport. The umpires in baseball have more effect than any other sport on top of it. The game is basically judged on the umpires opinion of the strike zone which can change momentum in the game on a dime. That happens in other sports sometimes but the refs aren’t interfering in every single play. Baseball is the only sport where the refereee has an effect on every single play. Plus how many times have we seen the Yankees in their history come back from insurmountable deficits. We just saw it on Tuesday for god sake.
