Since Paulie asked for a Berra line, I’ll say “ If you’re going to leave men on base, they’re not going to score”. How’d I do?...

What a weird trend. Managers are babying their starters arms and burning their relievers out in the first series of the season...I think this pitch count obsession along with the “brilliant” strategy of openers has a bunch of managers over-thinking...Wait til next year when the three batter minimum kicks in...

14 runners left on base.
Well at least the Red Sox are 1-3.
Astros are 1-3. Indians are 1-2.

Tourist in America reports back to his friends at home that he went to a place called Yankee Stadium to watch the American Yankees play a long game call “Ah shit”...
I wonder if we’ll play any other pair of games back to back this poorly this season. That was awful. I hope it’s not predictive of the Orioles playing us tough all season again. I think I hate the Orioles more than I do the Red Sox...I know I do...

I wonder what it takes to make Tulo smile? He didn’t look at all pleased when he hit his ST HR, nor his regular season HR this season. Had the same sour look on his face stepping in to hit today. I didn’t expect a smile after he failed to check his swing at the end of the game, but he sure looks stern...

I felt we played good teams better than bad ones last year. Maybe that tradition continues. We are still ahead of the Red Sox.
And still leaving a zillion men on base I see.

This was a game that featured a massive 407 pitches with 25 strikeouts and 15 walks. Savor that if you will...Egads. No wonder the young fans are staying away in droves. A wait of 3:17 for the rain delay and then THAT kind of game?...

Well, so far very similar to last year when the Yanks lost three of the first four to Baltimore at home and left tons of runners on base. I don't know if the Orioles just match up well with the Yankees or if the Yanks simply don't take a team this bad seriously enough.
I'm getting tired of the continuously lowering pitch count for starters -- it has been trending down from 100 to 90 and now seems to be moving toward 80. The bullpen should be pretty well gassed by May if this stuff continues.

I'm getting tired of the continuously lowering pitch count for starters -- it has been trending down from 100 to 90 and now seems to be moving toward 80. The bullpen should be pretty well gassed by May if this stuff continues. I’ve had some jobs where I worked very hard. I’ve never had a boss that notivmced and said “Why don’t you go home early? You look gassed, and I want to save you for the next job. I know you’re scheduled for a full day, but geez, I can’t expect you to finish what you started today. I want to pay you for a full day, but I don’t want you to work the whole time. To me, for a man not to expected to work 35-40 days a year throwing a baseball is such a silly concept. Yet, here we are... in 2019, grumbled the old man. Lol. I saw a few minutes of “Let’s Make A Deal” the other day when I took a week day off after working the previous weekend (never did that when young, either). Anyway, Wayne Brady asked his contestant what he did with his time, the thirtyish fellow stated that he works all the time. When he was asked how much all the time is he replied “Thirty hours a week”. As recently stated in the political thread that many of you wisely avoid... Perception is reality...
