OK, I screwed up the last time I tried this:
Tues Oct 3: Wildcard Game - Severino Thurs Oct 5: Game 1 - Gray Friday Oct 6: Game 2 - CC Sun Oct 8: Game 3 - Sverio Mon Oct 9: Game 4 - Tanaka Wed Oct 11: Game 5 - Gray
I don't want to use Tanaka but they would have to with this schedule. Punishment for not winning your division.

I gotta agree with CHI... Actually, no... I think I would rather use Gray in the WC game, and Sev in Game One... But I think the Yankees will do it the way CHI posted. I don't see the Twinkies as much of an offensive threat, so I'd save our #1 for the bigger game. Gray is still a great pitcher, so it wouldn't be like we're throwing Tanaka out there. I really don't trust Tanaka.. gives up too many long balls. I think the Yankees will go with Tanaka over CC... but I see no reason to. I would have Green ready at all times as a fireman, as soon as ANY starter (esp Tanaka, his leash is SHORT) gets into any sort of trouble. Hope Girardi managers this shit right and keeps these starters (minus Sev and Gray) on a short leash. Our bullpen is a strength if used properly.. which also means getting Betances and Chapman in work before the WC game so they're not all crazy wild... esp Bets..

I don't see the Twinkies as much of an offensive threat, These aren't the same Twinkies of old. They're third in the AL in runs and have good bats such as Sano, Rosario, Dozier, and Mauer.

I didn't know they were 4th in the AL in RS. I just know we dominated them and they didn't seem like they had much offensive firepower... I'm still not SKERD lol

Are we playing Cleveland? I'd prefer Tanaka on the road, as Progressive Field is a bit more forgiving of fly balls. So, Sabathia and Tanaka at Cleveland. Gray and Severino at Yankee Stadium. If the Yankees are down 0-2, Severino for Game 3, then Gray. But, that is with the given that Severino is pitching against Minnesota.

Are we playing Cleveland? Most likely with the Indians having a 2.5 game lead over Houston. I'm hoping that will change though.

I would use one pitcher after the other... (:
Like Girardi, I like to keep my strategy to myself...

Well I just scored tickets to the wild card game! Set me back 300 bucks but well worth it! I'm kind of sad I created this forum and won't be posting from home with you guys. But I'll try to post some from the stadium.

Sano is injured hasn't played in a month. I think the yankee pitching is way better than the twins pitching. Santana doesn't scare me.

I'm going with the same friend I saw the 2003 ALCS Game 7 Aaron Boone HR with and the 2006 ALDS Game 1 win with Jeter going 5 for 5 against the Tigers. So hopefully some good mojo. Unfortunately, we also saw the 2004 ALCS Game 7 loss together too. [upset]

Yankees have a much better team. But in one game anything could happen. I have to admit I'm a little concerned about Severino after his previous outing against the Twins. I hope he doesn't get the jitters. [pray]

I just know that Girardi will be tempted to go with Tanaka against the Twins, but I think that would be a mistake. With Severino pitching tonight, he would go on 7 days rest. However, it APPEARS that Girardi MIGHT go with Tanaka tomorrow- which would slot Tanaka on 6 days rest on October 3 (wild card game night). IMO, it SHOULD be Severino simply because in a one-game series, you can't take the chance. However, I could see how Girardi might conclude that Tanaka should start the Wild Card game- the idea would be to have him go as long as possible- and the first sign of trouble, get him out and put in Green or Warren- and use the deep pen to get through the game. Then, you have Severino for Game 1 against the Indians and if the series goes 5, he could pitch that one too.
