Gray has definitely been slumping, but he has some chops, too...Maybe this time around he'll pull a "Sevy" and come out firing...

I would go Gray, Tanaka, Severino, CC. You are going to have those three going twice in this series with CC as the Game 4 starter regardless so here is my rationale. Gray has already had a long layoff and you probably dont want him as the Game 6 or 7 guy so having him start 1 and 5 makes sense. Starting Tanaka in Game 2 puts him on an extra days rest (5 days) from his ALDS start and also an extra day rest (5 days) going into Game 6...we know he tends to perform better with a little extra rest. Finally you have Severino who would go a full week between starts if he goes in Game 3. I dont think this is necessarily a bad thing because Sevy has now thrown over 200 innings this year. He has never thrown more than 150-160 in his career. He can them come back on normal rest to pitch a decisive Game 7 if needed or Game 1 of the World Series if they get that far. I would go Gray Severino Tanaka CC Then see what things look like if/when you go back to Houston. |

We should want Tanaka pitching at Yankee Stadium.

Tanaka is much better at home so I think they will use him in Game 3. Either way, I love three of our starting pitchers who will give us a good chance in those games that they start. Not in love with Gray at the moment. Prove me wrong, Sonny. If you are worried about Tanaka pitching on the road do we really trust him in Game 7 in Houston then? |

Being a 7 game series, I would like to have Severino available to pitch 2 games. Games 2 and 6 would be nice.

I guess I'm in the minority because I'd go: Tankaka, Severino, CC & Gray. I think Gray ahs a bright future with the organizaiton but right now he's my 4th starter.

I'm not so much worried about him on the road as I am aware of how good he's been at home. If we get to 7, all bets are off and everyone is available. I am scared to see what kind of mixing and matching we get out of Joe if that happens.  |

Chi I get what you are saying but that would mean gray has almost two weeks between starts if he was the game 4 starter. That’s a pretty long layoff. Game 4 Wouldn’t be till Tuesday and he’s already on 7 days rest if he starts tomorrow that would be 11 days rest if he was held till game 4. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
