What has happened to Gardner's defense? He just turned a single into a double.

Tanaka was great today until he wasn’t.

What has happened to Gardner's defense? He just turned a single into a double. That was really bad.

All of sudden Tanaka looks afraid to pitch to this terrible White Sox lineup.

The White Sox manager over-managing is our best hope.

4 hits today for the Yanks.
Great, now I'm going out to shovel my drive way.

Hard to imagine the Yanks losing series at The Stadium vs Baltimore, Detroit and Chicago to start out the season, but all the injuries have really sucked the life out of this offense.

What the last few weeks show me, apart from the team needing to focus on fundamentals, is that it is too much to ask the roster to overcome this level of injuries. You have guys like Tauchman getting meaningful playing time who just aren’t major league quality. It adds up. It doesn’t explain something like Happ, Paxton or yesterday Tanaka pitching poorly though. That should revert back to something more normal. And then maybe we start to get guys back and play closer to the team’s potential. Hopefully the hole to crawl out of isn’t too deep by then.

Tampa isn't though. So there may be only one prize for us and the Red Sox to fight for by the time the team can turn it around...It's an interesting dilemma, that's for sure...It will test the character of our young roster...
