Don’t forget we’ll be VERY MUCH in play for Manny Machado. I think it’s pretty safe to say at least one of Harper and Machado will be in Pinstripes with a solid chance to get both

Manny Machado's death as a star was as premature as the premature death announcement of Sylvester Stallone earlier this week. He wound up at .259/.310/.471 with 33 HR and 95 RBI.The BA and OBP were down from his standards, which also led to a drop in runs scored, but if you consider how bad he was in the first half of the season, he wound up proving that he's still a force to be reckoned with in anyone's line up. Heck, 297 total bases in an OFF season...
So, do we want this guy? Or would we rather go homegrown and inexpensive with Andujar and or Torres??? I'd like to stay within the gameplan and use our young players. Spend all that Manny-Money on pitching, or a deluxe young OF. Harper? Maybe...Stanton? Could be? Big Billy's hot commodity, Yelich? Not a bad idea...A year or so ago, other than concerns that he's a bit of a hot-head, I wanted to sign Manny based on the theory that 3B like him don't come along very often...Now...I think we can do without him. This team is sooooooo stacked. Why should we hand out all that money to one guy when we have young players that are performing well and will eventually need to be paid or lost???

I'm very confident we will NOT be in play for Manny Machado, especially with Andujar and Torres coming up.

If we are going to splurge in 2019 it better be on Harper. Harper would hit 40+ every year at Yankee Stadium, PLUS, we will need a left handed bat. If you look at our potential line up, it is loaded with righties
Torres
Andujar
Judge
Sanchez
Frazier
Bird, Harper, Didi and Hicks (switch) would provide for a nice balance. If we sign Machado over Harper that would be a very unbalanced line-up.

Yeah.. if everything goes according to plan, we won't need Manny... or Harper really. Otani would be nice though...
