That's Herman Munster territory, man. Lol... Slayed me right there, Pipps...My heart rate went to zero... I am dead... Hmmm. So far, it’s not bad. I’ll keep you guys posted on it... Lifelong fan of Hermie Baby. People used to say that "Newhart" was the first TV show where the couple slept in the same bed, but Herman and Lilly had them beat by about five years.

When I was fifteen, my heart rate was 38 beats per minute. The physician accused me of being on drugs. I told him Bjorn Borg had the same heart rate. He made me take a drug test and would not sign my release to play basketball. A week later, he appeared angry and disappointed when the results were negative. Missed a week of varsity practice. That's Herman Munster territory, man. I was a zen kind of kid back then. I used to practice slowing down my heartbeat after seeing an episode of “In Search Of” about Himalayan Monks. It was also a method to counteract my father’s rage. The angrier he was, the calmer I became. It has served me well. When everyone is losing their minds in a crisis, everything slows down for me and the appropriate response quite clear. The death of my wife is challenging that peace of mind, though.

Cold but third grade funny. Do kids still get called Fatso? My grandfather used to play a record called "Roly Poly." One line I remember in there was "daddy's little fatty." There was a Howlin' Wolf song "300 pounds of Joy." Okay, need to button up. Me mudder taught me that one. Oh for the days when fat was fat...Now it’s “blubbery challenged” or something like that... Circumferentially challenged is what you're looking for.

I have to recall this story. I remember the guy that now does frozen breakfast foods, but was once a popular singer and even had his own TV show telling this story...Jimmy Dean.
He was on a late night show, and I think it was The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He said he was a bit backward as a boy, shy around the girls, but decided to go to a dance. He was being a wallflower himself when he noticed a heavy-set girl sitting alone and looking lonely and decided to get up the courage to ask her to dance, and she accepted.
After a long stretch of dancing in silence he felt like he should say something, and said the first thing that popped into his head, which was, “You sure don’t sweat much for a fat girl”...

I rewatched “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” last week...
This subject got me thinking about that. It is a good movie, and DiCaprio was as brilliant as Depp was...
