You can only pick one name. I'd go with Al Pedrique.

WHAT! Only one name? You mean like "Al" or "Tony"? Our manager is going to be like Cher, or Bono?
Okay, just kidding, but I'd like either Al Franklin, Tony Pedrique, or Al Pedrique, or Tony Franklin. It doesn't make a lot of difference which one of the two, and maybe I'd even take a combination of the two if that were offered (it won't be). I'm subscribing to the theory that I would like to have someone that worked with the current players in a successful situation in the minors and that the players have a liking and respect for already.

You can only pick one name. I'd go with Al Pedrique. Don't know much about him but he seems like the most sensible name I've read so far. Hopefully he's a "get out of their way and let them play" manager and not someone from the Joe Maddon/Joe Girardi school of overthinking the game.

Its kind of funny too that Girardi is viewed as this stiff micro manager and Maddon is the genius mad scientist.

[img alt=" " class="smile" src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/udcwFqPimnXDtjoTmoVL.gif"] I love Mattingly for what he did as a ballplayer. From what I saw of him as the manager in LA, he's not my kind of manager. I think having him manage the Yankees can only tarnish his reputation. I'd much rather not.

If you want to use Pinella and Yogi as examples. But then again, look how nicely Billy Martin got treated... (: Hank Bauer was another Yankee player that ended on a sour note...

I'd like to see the AAA manager too , just because of his experience with the yout's already... plus everything I read about him makes it seem like he's being groomed to take over the big league club. Saw some of his interviews on youtube and he seems very down to earth... and doesn't have a stick up his ass 24/7 like Retardi
