When did Girardi lose the job?

I’m pretty sure it was the Michael Kay show, but I’ve been listening to so many baseball podcasts lately I’m not certain.

I found an article where Cashman is called “lukewarm” to his signing, but Kay (iirc) spoke in much stronger terms and indicated that the Steinbrenners entirely overrode his wishes.
