Hard to believe this is my second game thread this year.
I am not sure CC will actually be the pitcher, but that is what Yahoo says.

"Boston isn’t bad by any means, but with the way the Yankees have looked — and don’t forget about the Rays, currently resting comfortably between the two — the ultimate champions of the AL East will likely need at least 100 wins. With June just kicking off, the Yankees will need to play just .590 baseball (compared to their current .667 record) to get there. The Red Sox will need to pick up the pace from .500 to essentially a baseball’s best .683." And we did it without some key players (although I am not sure getting Stanton back is going to help as much as some think. I think we play better fundamental base ball without the big sluggers). sports.yahoo.com/whats-happened-to-the-108-win-world-series-champion-red-sox-050908666.html

This should be a CC, Cessa, Hale game. Maybe Green for a couple of outs if necessary. After that, I'm going to position players. The real relief pitchers have to have a day off.

I feel like 4 innings is about all we’ll get from CC. If that’s what happens and we can get a good job from the secondary and terciary bullpen pieces and still win that would be very discouraging to Boston. Not that it will be time to bury them. We know how this works. We’ve been on both sides of these kind of circumstances before. The more distance between “them” and “us” the better. The Yanks are going to have another cold stretch at some point, and if Boston gets hot st the same time... they’re back. Meanwhile... back in Tampa...

Tampa scored 5 in the 7th.
I have hundreds of channels including the MLB ticket and somehow this game is not on. Annoying. I will be watching it on the internet.
Or not the game shows at 4:08 on MLB but apparently my crazy system is showing it in PST. So the game is 3 hours from now on ESPN I am sure.

I think Tampa is our real threat this year.

CC goes for career win number 250. There won't be too many more of those going forward.
The ESPN broadcasts seem to show the three turkeys in the booth more than the action on the field. But at least not as much Yankee hate as we get from Smoltz.

If we win tonight there will be only 5 teams in the AL with winning records (if Oakland wins there will be six).
