Didn’t see this mentioned but Frazier not running on a ground ball double play last night is another good way to get yourself traded. Yea I saw that but just willfully ignored it. I don’t think cashman will ignore it.

I've seen Gary do that a bunch of times. And in Clint's defense he did land off balance at first. Still, he should have put on the afterburners afterwards. It certainty does not look good after you refused to speak to the media the other day.

Frazier did it and crickets. White guys don’t get criticized for being lazy in NYC. But this is right after the bullshit he pulled by pussing out of talking to the media after his disastrous game in the OF which is the opposite of what the team formally trains its players to do. He’s an immature guy. As good of a hitter as he is, I won’t mind seeing them deal him now and the Encarnacion trade seems designed to make it easier for them to just that. He could end up being a great major league hitter and I won’t mind it happening for another team. Hopefully Cash can get decent value for him.

He's definitely an immature guy right now. Not everyone can be Aaron Judge at that age. I'm still a fan of his though. He's got a lot of talent and middle of the order hitters don't grow on trees. But there doesn't seem to be space for him either. I've come to accept that he will be traded. Like you said, I'm hoping Cash can get good value for him.

I was definitely rooting for him but he’s been tough to root for this year. The best thing he can do for us right now is get us a starting pitcher.

Not that I am remotely comparing them as players, but there were times early in Mickey Mantle's career when he didn't run out a pop up or an easy ground ball. And he got booed for it and criticized in the media.
The vast majority of the time he played all-out, but now and then in his first few seasons he could pout. He matured and became one of the most beloved Yankees ever, but it took him a few years to get there. Hopefully Frazier will follow the same path.

Following a long line of Yankees in that tradition.

One point here to note is that Mickey was white. However, so was everyone else on the Yankees at that point. The second-to-last team in MLB to play a black player in a MLB game...Boston was last...Perhaps a northeastern thing...

By the time he had his balance back it was far too late for him to beat the ball out. At the same time, I would have liked to see a bit of late effort... I think that’s why he “ got away” with it...
