Just watched the archived game. Strange lack of command from nearly every pitcher on both sides. Tanaka could not get any depth on his slider or just hung it over the plate. Without that pitch or a reliable split, it was a short day, even with two strikes. Weird injury for Voit - core muscle pull under the belly button? That’s a new one on me. Encarnacion was swinging like there was a blindfold and piñata! Five strikeouts...and not close ones. Urshela just hits...starting or subbing...he seems to understand his approach, much like LeMahieu who is beginning to make a run toward MVP. He now leads the AL in batting average and hits; fourth in RBI and fifth in runs; and sixth in OPS. Mike Trout will be difficult to unseat, but at least LeMahieu must be in the conversation.

The lack of command for pitchers was so noticeable that it likened the venue to Colorado, where the elevation and lack of humidity play havoc with pitchers.
Could it have been some geographic or meteorologic oddity of the location? Will we be “treated” to more of same tomorrow, or will we see a more “normal” performance?
Given what we saw today, who’s pitching tomorrow (which could be a statement or a question at this point), the venue oddities, etc....I’d want to offer the over/under on runs scored at about 23...

I expect a no hitter today.

I'm just glad the Yanks won the first one. With this big lead over the Sox, they just need to avoid being swept.

So we are calling up a guy who hasn’t hit since he was demoted and who is a terrible fielder to play once or twice a week? Pass. Me too... Trade him, take the temptation away... I DO NOT UNDERSTAND = "A TERRIBLE FIELDER" = Besides his Very Good Batting Stats; Frazier has only made THREE ERRORS for entire season in the Big Leagues = ALL IN RF.

Errors are not a good way to judge an OF's defensive abilities, since you are not considering the balls that the player never gets to because he misjudges them. By all advanced statistics, Frazier has been the worst defensive OF in the major leagues. It doesn't mean I would trade him but he's really struggled in RF.

If you honestly don’t understand you haven’t watched him play. He’s the worst defensive OF I have ever seen play for the Yankees. He’s young so there’s at least the theoretical chance he could become good enough to not be a liability and he has a very strong arm, so the story isn’t written on him yet. But if you honestly don’t see this you’re either not watching or you’re kidding yourself.

Just watch how many times the dot in his zone doesn’t get caught... lol Think of it this way. His RF rating in Strat-O-Matic would be a 4. In LF. He’d be a 3. His throwing arm would be -3...
