Well, ladies and gentlemen, Happ just pitched six innings while allowing only three earned runs. By the book, a quality start. A few years ago a 4.50 ERA was a questionable level at which to proclaim a quality start. Now, it seems about right. Dang-near no-hitterish by 2019 standards... |

Reflecting on this game and golfer names brings back memories and what could have been. I should be a professional golfer...so many things going for me, yet only one thing kept me off the PGA Tour. I think being a fair-to-middling PGA golfer has to be one of the best jobs in life. You can be totally obscure and make millions, you are your own boss, you spend most of your time in beautiful surroundings, and you get to wear cool clothes for your work. And, sponsorship takes care of so many things. Never paying for clothes, balls, clubs...and so many opportunities for appearance fees. |
