I’m trying to get an appointment that could make me miss all or part of it. Potential sale. I need to pile a few on before winter...
Then Sunday, we’re planning to take a long mountain drive. It’s getting to that time of year out here where some of the mountain sites start to see serious snow before long. Where I want to go snakes right in between two 14,000 foot tall mountains on a pass that tops out around 10,000 feet. There’s an old mining town behind those mountains called St. Elmo that’s been mostly preserved. Ghost town. It’s been mostly deserted back there since 1922. Four wheel drive not a must, but it helps...
I went there back in 2002, but I was unaware at the time there had been a fire and the place was fenced off. They rebuilt the old town hall, but sadly the rest of a full block was lost to the fire. I’d like to explore the old town a bit, and at least take a peek in the General Store (tourist trap). You can raft or rent a Jeep for the more rugged trails. Doubt we’ll do any of that, it’s just a day trip...Couple-three hours each way and some gawking time in between...and the route TO there is amazing. Through a canyon. Over an 11,000 foot mountain pass that I’ve driven in snow on in July before, past several 14,000 foot peaks.
These are the things I moved back to Colorado for. Don’t know why, but I love them...

You didn’t know about St. Elmo’s fire?

[img alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/udcwFqPimnXDtjoTmoVL.gif" class="smile"] , that's terrible luck. At least the Yanks are winning big! Sometimes it’s a bit of evil fun having the other team’s broadcast when we’re winning big... (: Hawk was always a treat when the White Sox were getting their buts kicks.

I don’t know how they won this game after all of the doom and gloom that they lost a series to Oakland and were facing a pitcher they couldn’t beat. Is it possible that none of that means anything at all no matter how often it is repeated?

Anyone else surprised that Sanchez is the fastest ever to 100 in the AL? Wouldn’t have guessed that.

Anyone else surprised that Sanchez is the fastest ever to 100 in the AL? Wouldn’t have guessed that. Not that Sanchez isn’t talented, because he is, and to the ONE, the fastest to 100 is an amazing feat and surprise... yet, I suppose it to also be a product of the times. I took note the the young stud catcher on the Dodgers has played in only 28 games and had hit 12 HR. Baseball’s are flying. If it doesn’t get curtailed we’ll see many more HR-related records and notable situations arise...
