I truly would so love to be able to see DOMEWORLD, but I fear it may be a bit like the Hotel California, where you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave... [img src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/udcwFqPimnXDtjoTmoVL.gif" alt=" " class="smile"] INGER & KAYBIL: Why don't you BOTH come for a visit...it is only 1-hour Flight from LAX. I will take care of rooms here (First Class Accommodations) and your Drinks at Coyote Village.
Just let us know when...
Tequila is excited: "Inger Coming, Inger Coming..."

Dome, one of these days, I just might take you up on that offer. Right now I need to keep my nose to the grindstone...Maybe once I finally get to retire, if we're both still alive...

I don't really feel like typing it all out... Long story short.. There's been a lot of tension at work from being so short handed. I almost got in a fist fight last week and the employee wound up quitting over it. Now this week, since we're even shorter handed... I felt like being a dick and calling out of work...

Treat of the day:
In 1901 23 year-old pitcher Pete Loos, starting a game for the Philadelphia Athletics in his only major league appearance throws 18 consecutive balls to start the game. He somehow manages to get through a full inning, allowing 5 runs (3 earned) off 2 hits and the 4 consecutive walks allowed to the first four batters...
EDIT: I forgot. See, I called this the treat of the day. Most of you are younger than me, and you go out on Friday night. For an old fogie like me that stays in on Friday night, this is the treat of the day...for you younger folks, if this winds up being your treat of the day, then I'm glad I could help. But for your sake, I hope you had a better treat somewhere along the line today...

Ricky Guiteirrez is credited with having seen the most pitches in a single at bat when he faced off against Bartolo Colon when Guitierrez played for the Astros against the Indians on July 26, 1998. The at bat lasted 20 pitches...I'm not certain how that AB went, but Guitierrez went 0 for 2 on the day with a walk and a strike out...

AB's like that one put a heavy load on a pitcher's arm and are probably the reason Colon could only pitch until he was 43 or so.

AB's like that one put a heavy load on a pitcher's arm and are probably the reason Colon could only pitch until he was 43 or so. Speaking of Colon, by now we're all quite aware of his amazing feat of being the oldest player in the history of baseball to hit his first home run, which he did on May 7, 2016, just a few days before his 43rd birthday. How many of us are aware that he also became the oldest player in MLB history to draw the first walk of his career on August 15th of the same year? Colon's career batting slash is an abysmal .085/.093/.108. Oddly enough, Colon also only hit 4 doubles in his career and the first was hit on June 14th of the 2014 season, when he was 41 years of age. He hit another one is 2015, and then two more in the same season as the infamous HR, 2016. I don't know at this point if we can say that Colon was the oldest player ever to hit his first double, but I would think the odds are pretty good that he was... Because Colon spent a great deal of time in the AL when he was in his prime, he only assembled a few more than 100 plate appearances prior to 2014...He now has 322 PA...

I just checked, Satchel Paige never had an extra base hit, so he does not take the oldest career double away from Colon. He was my biggest concern. I'm sure older players have doubled... it's that first double I'm looking for...
