Stanton out of the lineup. Even Micheal Kay said if the guy can't play 2 games in a row why is he playing. Why is he on the team. Sometimes I think he missed more games than he played in. A lifetime Carl Pavano award winner.

Because he has a contract that runs thru '27... Bury him on the IL or Mil Rehab. He is going to take weeks to get in the groove and only go back on the IL again. Than they will sell us on him playing the postseason not 100% because they need his bat.

Because he has a contract that runs thru '27... Yeah although the Yankees should learn the concept of sunk cost. A horrible acquisition to be sure.

Schmidt was fast becoming one of the sports most reliable pitchers once he established the ability to go deep into games. Just as I really started to admire his new bulldog persona, he was gone. I’m anxious to see if he can pick up where he left off…

why do they say live batting practice. What else could it be? Zombies on the field?

why do they say live batting practice. What else could it be? Zombies on the field? Some guys hit off a tee or a pitching machine instead of an actual human throwing the ball.

Schmidt on the mound, Rizzo in the box.

Schmidt on the mound, Rizzo in the box. I know this sounds like Cashman, but getting Schmidt back and whole would be better than any pitcher we could have obtained at the deadline at a reasonable cost…

From MLB Rumors 08/8/2024
Anthony Volpe Leaves Game Due To Foot Contusion, X-Rays Negative By Mark Polishuk | August 8, 2024 at 11:52pm CDT
Anthony Volpe fouled a ball off his left foot during a plate appearance in the 2nd inning of tonight’s 9-4 Yankees loss to the Angels, and the shortstop was eventually forced out of the game in the 8th inning. Manager Aaron Boone told the New York Post’s Greg Joyce and other reporters that x-rays were negative and Volpe just received a contusion, though more will be known in the coming days if Volpe will need to miss any time. Volpe has an exactly average 100 wRC+ over 516 PA this season, with a lot of streakiness baked into a .257/.304/.410 slash line. The 2nd-year player has been hot at the plate recently and is still delivering standout defense at shortstop, so the Yankees can only hope the injury isn’t serious.
