During Sunday's game against Oakland, I thought one of the announcers said Trevino was hurt? Did anyone else hear it? My bad, I heard the name mentioned and thought it was our catcher, "Trevino", but it must have been "Trivino", sorry |

good lord nestor injured!!! just when we thought we were healthy.
nestor had been great lately. this injury keeps him out at least through the alds. don't know the severity so not sure about the long-term implications. probably wasn't gonna be a starter in the PS but certainly would have valuable out of the pen and long relief.
thankfully we had 6 starters. stroman gets the start tonight. amazing how these things work out.

The injury to Nestor is a big deal. The Yankees might have an "extra" starter, but the bullpen is a string of question marks. I thought the potential for Nestor to be a muliple inning reliever had a lot of potential. In a world where starters start looking at the bullpen in the 4th inning, not having Nestor hurts.

of course it's a terrible blow. his addition to the pen would certainly make it stronger. for a brief minute thought we were finally whole. throw cousin's injury into the mix and suddenly we're limping into the PS. holding out hope that cousins is back for the alds and nestor for the alcs. |

Maybe there's a chance that Rizzo can play in the postseason if he's comfortable hitting with 2 fingers below the knob of the bat? I knew someone that used to bat that way, he was a pretty good hitter too. As far as Rizzo catching a ball, I guess that would depend on if the Yankees can come up with a way to protect Rizzo's fractured fingers.
