MLB, MLBPA agree on stipulations for return of 2020 season
As part of the agreement, obtained by ESPN's Jeff Passan, the players and MLB primarily agreed that the 2020 season will not start until each of the following conditions are met:
-There are no bans on mass gatherings that would limit the ability to play in front of fans. However, the commissioner could still consider the "use of appropriate substitute neutral sites where economically feasible";
-There are no travel restrictions throughout the United States and Canada;
-Medical experts determine that there would be no health risks for players, staff or fans, with the commissioners and union still able to revisit the idea of playing in empty stadiums.
While there was no formal framework in the agreement, owners and players both want to play as many games as possible. The flexibility of both sides was seen in the willingness to extend the regular season into October, play neutral-site playoff games in November and add doubleheaders to the schedule.
Players pushed to receive a full year of service time, which counts days toward free agency, arbitration and pension, even in the event of a canceled season. When MLB agreed to grant that, the path to a deal coming together was forged, sources said.
The union agreed not to sue the league for full salaries in the event that the 2020 season never takes place, and MLB will advance players $170 million over the next two months, sources said. The MLBPA will divvy up the lump sum among four classes of players, with the majority of it going to those with guaranteed major league contracts. If games are played, the advance will count against final salaries, which will be prorated.

Womack, by the way was on the tail end of his best base stealing days that year. Between 1997 and 2001 he was 263/46 (85.1%) stealing bases, which included 28/7 in 2001. He was not an easy “get” for any catcher at that point of his career. Give Jorge his due for that feat. You almost make it sound like it was a fluke that Jorge nabbed him... He caught more than 1/4 that year. Womack got caught 1/5. The odds were not astronomical...

You have to watch this video. The announcer says "Things are starting to look bleak here" with the Yankees down 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and no one on base. Watch what I do next:

I have to pick that up. I haven't been able to reconfigure rosters on Madden yet to have Cody Kessler as the Pats starting QB Definitely pick it up. It's tons of fun. Have been playing 2 or 3 games a day to get my baseball fix while under lockdown. Lol, Cody Kessler. Hopefully, the Pats sign Cam Newton or someone. Ordered it yesterday. Its not toilet paper or paper towels so it should be here today or tomorrow. I think the Pats will go with Jarrett Stidham and spend the money on a receiver and filling the gaps on defense. Bills probably win the division but that alone will probably be enough for the Pats to challenge for it and maybe win a wild card game. With the cap hit, I don't think they have money to spend on a free agent QB and they like Stidham.

Most Happy Fella! Too bad you can't pick your own announcers. I'd go with Ruocco and Coney

If we're lucky we get half a season but I am not optimistic based on the way this is being handled and the President's goofy Easter pronouncement. If he follows through we'll have a second wave of outbreaks before this gets better.

Well, this should solve everything And it's articles like this why people no longer believe the media. People complain that other's aren't taking the virus serious. Maybe it's because most people aren't stupid. They see the media producing articles saying how dangerous the virus is.. and they don't believe it because the media also produce articles like this.... You'd have to be an idiot to believe Trump called A-Rod and ASKED ADVISE about how to deal with the virus. I'm sure he called him... and maybe even asked his opinion... but you'd have to be stupid to believe he would use A-Rod's opinion on anything to make decisions... The media sensationalized this and it's all this sensationalizing that when there is an actual problem, the people will think the media is full of shit , like everything else. The media is the boy who cried wolf...

Kim is generally a serious reporter. It’s not like he writes for “The Onion” or something. But this is an absolutely weird story that makes it seem he (Kim) has taken a satirist turn...
