Definitely sounds like a Randy Levine inspired event. In Louisiana, we would call this “chicken-shit.” Remember, you cannot make chicken salad out of chicken-shit. It’s all in fun, people. They’re going to give that money back, but first they gonna make mo’ money outta yo’ money. Happens every day. I just spread a little reconstituted chicken shit on my yard last week. Greens it up pretty nice. Even chicken shit does some good in this world...

[b Good lesson on how the rich get richer. Hold on til after the next interest check comes in, then we’ll pay some more of these dumb pre-buy ticket holders back. I say we pay off seasonticketholder and seasonticketholder2 off, and let 3 and 4 wait. And pay off TMarino, but put Yankee54 on the list for autumn...

SOME C-VIRUS NEWS:
WE, AMERICA still has the most Virus Deaths in World…go figure.***--05-26-20: www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-05-26/wuhan-tests-millions-in-12-days-as-china-fears-second-virus-wave?srnd=premium AMERICA are you listening??? = CHINA Tested 6.5 MILLION in 9-12-days…AND--05-26-20: us.cnn.com/2020/05/26/asia/coronavirus-wuhan-testing-intl-hnk/index.html (CNN)The central Chinese city of Wuhan conducted more than 6.5 million novel coronavirus tests in just 9 days, according to state media, a drastic move by authorities to prevent a second wave of infections in the original epicenter of the global pandemic. Wuhan's ambitious citywide nucleic acid testing drive came after six new cases emerged in a residential community earlier this month -- the first-time local infections were reported following the city's emergence from its months-long lockdown in April. From May 15 to May 23, swab test samples were collected from more than nine million residents, China's state-broadcaster CCTV reported, accounting for more than 80% of the city's total population of 11 million. Nucleic acid tests work by detecting the virus' genetic code, and can be more effective at detecting the infection, particularly in the early stages, than tests which examine a body's immune response, though the latter are easier to conduct. The mass testing identified 198 asymptomatic cases -- people who carry the virus but do not show symptoms, according to the state-run Health Times. The speed and scope of Wuhan's testing campaign -- hailed as a "10-day battle" by local authorities -- appears to have equaled or eclipsed the testing ability of many countries, including that of the United States. Rats, it seems, haven't been satisfied with curbside pickup or delivery during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning that rodent populations – which rely on a banquet of scraps and waste in restaurant dumpsters – are spiking in certain areas. Restaurant trash bins are no longer overflowing, and the famished creatures are scrambling for new sources of food. "Jurisdictions have closed or limited service at restaurants and other commercial establishments to help limit the spread of COVID-19. Community-wide closures have led to a decrease in food available to rodents, especially in dense commercial areas," the CDC said. "Some jurisdictions have reported an increase in rodent activity." Environmental and health officials may witness an increase in service requests amid reports of "unusual or aggressive rodent behavior." Rats have even resorted to cannibalism and infanticide, such as in the restaurant mecca of New York City, according to some reports. "They're mammals just like you and I, and so when you're really, really hungry, you're not going to act the same. You're going to act very bad, usually," Bobby Corrigan, an urban rodentologist, told NBC News. " So these rats are fighting with one another, now the adults are killing the young in the nest and cannibalizing the pups." 'Humans not meant to be alone': Many Americans haven't seen or touched another person in 3 months because of COVID-19 New Orleans has also seen packs of rats surging into city streets. "I turn the corner, there's about 30 rats at the corner, feasting on something in the middle of the street," Charles Marsala of New Orleans Insider Tours and AWE News told CBS News. Pest control workers in some cities are classified as essential employees. The nation's capital has logged more than 800 calls regarding rodents in the past month, shows city 311 data cited by The Washington Post. Communities are right to be wary: Rats and mice can directly or indirectly transmit over 35 diseases, according to the CDC. READ MORE…

So, long term if the rats continue cannibalistic behavior patterns, the population will diminish, right? But wait! Here comes Sara McGlothlan with her newest campaign, “Save The Rats”.
Can’t we all just spare a scrap to put outside your door so some hungry rat can make it through another day? And send me just $29.99 per month, less than a dollar per day* to save the lives of thousands of these poor starving creatures. <Camera shot of skinny rat with flies on it’s face>.
* February excepted. Sorry, nothing I can do about that.

Millionaires fighting Billionaires over money in a pandemic. Fun fun.
Players call MLB economic proposal 'extremely disappointing'
A rookie at the major league minimum would make a higher percentage of his salary than multimillionaire stars like Mike Trout or Gerrit Cole under a sliding-scale proposal by big league teams that players found “extremely disappointing.”
Major League Baseball made the proposal to the players' union on Tuesday during a digital meeting rather than the 50-50 revenue-sharing plan that owners initially approved for their negotiators on May 11, two people familiar with the plan told The Associated Press. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the details were not announced.
In addition, the union said “the sides also remain far apart on health and safety protocols” aimed at starting the pandemic-delayed season around the Fourth of July.
“We made a proposal to the union that is completely consistent with the economic realities facing our sport,” MLB said in a statement. “We look forward to a responsive proposal from the MLBPA.”

Nice.
The A's told their minor leaguers Tuesday that they will not continue to pay them their current salary of $400 per week beyond May 31.
One would expect no more from A's owners John Fisherf. A's minor leaguers will remain employees of the team, making them unable to file for unemployment, yet they'll be entirely unpaid until said time that they're suddenly expected to report to camp in tip-top shape, ready to play baseball once again. That just doesn't seem entirely fair for some reason. Source: Jeff Passan on Twitter

The owners might cave, like they usually do against the player's union.

We're not having a season, guys. Not over health concerns. But over the $$$$$$$.
The owners might cave, like they usually do against the player's union. It will be interesting to see what the NHL does it seems like its been approved that the season is over and a 24 team playoff would begin in July, however, their players association has to agree to this. If they do then I think that puts the pressure on MLB and NBA, but if they don't I think this just keeps dragging on. Details on NHL progress: www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/29225074/nhl-adopts-24-team-playoff-season-returnsWhile the players and the NHL have agreed on a format, the NHL Players' Association has not formally approved any actual return to finish the season. The league and the NHLPA also must still figure out health and safety protocols and solve other issues, including where to play. So even if this goes through it seems like they will be playing these games at 3-4 arenas max which is something they discussed with MLB, but the biggest difference here is the most games any one team has to play in the NHL format would roughly 20 if they made it to the finals? Thats way less than the amount of games MLB would have to play plus it doesn't even seem like that limited stadium idea is even on the table anymore for MLB.

The research shows just how prevalent asymptomatic transmission of COVID-19 may be—a reality that both suggests official case counts are drastic underestimates, and emphasizes the importance of practicing social distancing even if you feel healthy.Researchers have known for months that asymptomatic transmission of COVID-19 is possible and common, but without population-wide testing, it’s been difficult to estimate how many people get infected without showing symptoms. The new paper provides an example of how widespread asymptomatic transmission can be, at least in a contained environment. READ MORE...

Maybe this is a start:
The Most Important COVID-19 Statistic: 43% Of U.S. Deaths Are From 0.6% Of The Population
This is a Forbes headline. For some reason I couldn’t copy the link to the article, but statistics quoted show that 43% of the deaths in the USA are coming from nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
So, to make sense of one stat, one must have access to many other stats. What pct. of the USA vs. other countries live in such facilities?
Some countries may not even have similar facilities. Some may have higher or lower population density.
Some countries (perhaps all countries) may not be accurately reporting deaths, including the USA.
In any event I feel as though inaccurate reports are blatant worldwide. First, that problem must be solved. Only then can we be certain of the existence of such a problem. When that can be accomplished, perhaps we can solve it. Until then, of course. It’s Donald Trumps fault. Congress went home instead of staying on the job to help solve the issues. Trump has stayed at work, so it’s HIS problem, and his alone.
He should have had over 500 assistants, but home they went, with the laughable statement that we could call them in an emergency. Drain the swamp...
