I was 10 and just getting into baseball in 96... I started watching in 95. I remember my Grandpa being happy that the Yankees won... but upset that Mattingly just missed out on a ring Hey we started at the same time! I watched baseball for the first time in 95 too! We were so spoiled through the dynasty years. You guys are a little similar to me, except the years were 77 & 78 when those Yankee teams went back to back. Then the Pirates won in 79 and the Phillies in 80 and thought only the local favorites from my hometown ever won the World Series.

Oh I didn't watch it... I'm not trying to relive that traumatic life event I still have difficulty watching the Mazeroski home run from 1960, and I knew squat about baseball back then...

Remember when Hughes was throwing a NO-NO against Texas then blew out his hamstring

It's amazing how hard it is to become a professional athlete... Not only do you have to have natural talent and a good strong work ethic... you have to have the ability to overcome injuries and have a body type that holds up. Staying healthy is a skill. You can have Mike Trout talent and a Brett Gardner work ethic... but if you have a body like Pavano... you're screwed.

Remember when Hughes was throwing a NO-NO against Texas then blew out his hamstring I'd like to watch that game again, but, the ending would be painful, knowing what could have been.
