Gleyber's only 23, so hopefully he matures and gets more consistent with the routine plays. So very true. I‘ll have to keep reminding myself of that salient fact. Amazing, when you think about it.

We have a strange infield strategy. Start with an immature SS with great skills. Add a poor-fielding 1B who is so poor that we slide our gold glove quality 2B over to replace him late in games, despite that he’s in experienced and there Ford nothing special at 1B. Then our best fielding infielder has to replace the 2B at 2B, making him unavailable to replace the immature SS in late innings. Our third baseman is trashed in the defensive metrics but tends to wow us a couple of times per game with a tremendous play. We have a catcher that oozes talent but can’t consistently hit or field. When he’s on, he’s amazing. When he’s not, it’s a horror show...
But these bats are just terrific... I’m leaving out the outfield talent that can’t stay on the field, but the back ups are good enough anyway. This is a strange but productive team...

We have a strange mix of parts but most of the time they seem to work. Trying to keep your players sharp with playing time will be a challenge for Boone in this short season. We did beat a really good team 2 out of 3 though. I wish we could have worked something out to keep Romine. Sanchez looks lost!

You basically summed up some of the REASONS why I didn't bet on the Yanks for 2020 (but there is more)...
Sanchez should have been traded last year...
