We traded Hale, DFA’d Avilan, but Holder somehow still lingers on, waiting to give the other team a sporting chance. Small 12 inning sample size, but Holder only has a 2.25 ERA. I've always thought he was just a one inning reliever and usually struggles when he asked to go that second frame.

The Yankees have another double header on Friday, so Garcia will probably be back. (Or at least I hope he will)

We have a lot of good pitchers now with Cole, Tanaka, Montgomery, even Happ looking good his last start, King, Loasiga, and Garcia. If our bullpen can live up to its billing and if our lineup does better as we get healthier, this is still a very dangerous team!

That’s much better than I realized, and the small sample size indicates he’s been astronomically better than I thought, because one poor outing can balloon an ERA for a reliever early in a season.

C Gary Sanchez 1B Luke Voit 2B DJ LeMahieu 3B Gio Urshela SS Gleyber Torres LF Clint Frazier
CF Aaron Hicks RF Aaron Judge DH Giancarlo Stanton
Now that is one scary lineup!

The bullpen must have been gassed because Holder was left in there to give up 6 or 7 runs in one inning. That will kill your ERA!

If not, Kaybli, I shall need a place to stay for a couple nights while I search for an unregistered, plain paneled van, duct tape, plastic cable ties, chloroform, a copy of “Weaver on Strategy,” and a yellow highlighter.

One thing to be cautious about with Garcia. He doesn’t always exhibit the kind of command we saw today.when he’s not on, the walks and the pitches will pile up. I love the dude. That relaxed look on the mound... He’s just still young. I was afraid Boone would IL him after the the game because he threw so many pitches...
