If Gardner wasn't such a long time Yankee and so beloved, would he still be on the roster? He probably should be DFA'd. Well as a defensive replacement or a pinch runner on a team with a lot of good hitting OF he would be ok. But not on this one. But after all he gave to the Yankees they can't release him now. |

I wish you did feel like explaining, because I wonder why MLB would be laughing at the Yankees? Chapman throws at Brosseau's head. After the game the Rays manger calls out the Yankee organization, including Boone, questioning their integrity, among other insults. The very next day, you give 4 runs to them, including a two run HR by Brosseau before you even get one out. That's not an ideal response. Kay & Cone and the Yankee reporters that are at the Stadium are all commenting on how the Ray's dugout is really loud right now, laughing their asses off at the Yankees right now. With the way the Yanks are hated throughout the league, there's a lot of people enjoying seeing them getting pushed around by a team with 1/4 their payroll. This was a big test for Montgomery tonight and he failed big time. Ok, I see what you're saying. Tampa is sort of the over-achieving team of the season, so many baseball fans probably are loving the sentimental favorites over the big, bad, Yankees. I have dealt with the anti-Yankee bias my whole life. I have felt blessed being a Yankee fan, with the number of titles I have witnessed. I have a brother who is a lifelong Cleveland fan, and he has had so much angst to deal with.  |

The Indians haven't won the World Series since the 1940's and with the pitching staff they had, they were a legit contender this year. I'd be disappointed that they traded one their best pitchers. |
