then why did they sign him to a large contract? Because there is a lot more to baseball than “getting hits”... I don't think Hick's contract is that big when you are talking about CF's with speed and power. He's not a great player but there would be market for him if Cashman put him on the trade block, but then the Yankees wouldn't have a CF.

He’s got the speed to play left in Yankee Stadium. If he can continue to get decent jumps, no reason why he cannot with the way he’s been playing. He’s moved past Tauchman and Gardy in the pecking order. He’s also got a really good arm.
