I don't think you'd get much in return. Rather keep him as a backup OFer and see if he can bounce back.

He got more time in the field and at bat than expected and produced. Last year was a weird season that’s hard to make judgements on. His power was real in 2019. I wonder if he has any options left?

That is a good point there was no minor league team last season to go and figure it out there.

I suspect that Tauchman's 2019 power numbers were aided by the juice ball that was used that season. He returned to form last year.

Just give him the 5/100 he wants already. I'm telling you if you wait around, someone will offer him more than that and he will take it. And then you will have to spend even more trying to replace his production.

It's been a slow market, this passes for news.

Sounds like his side is wanting to get the deal done. There is certainly no rule that they must give the Yankees the last chance to match an offer. It must be a bit galling that even if you sign the deal you want, Stanton will still be paid fifty percent more than you to be an occasional DH.

Lindor, Story, Semian... Torres back to second. With the shift being employed as much as it is, you can actually almost hide a poor glove at 2B anymore... I like the fact that DJ isn’t taking any shit. He’s looking elsewhere. The burden to retain him is on Cashman....DJ negotiates the same way he plays the game. He already gave the Yankees a discount to go to NY once. Now he wants credit applied to his new deal, or they can kiss it...
