What are the chances Yanks drop German? We don't know what he did, but they do. If he continues with the 7+ERA in Winter ball, pretty good. But, as for the suspension, he has been given absolution. I guess the upside is still too much to just cut now so they gotta see what they have. He was 18-4 with a low 4 era last time he played.

I would be very surprised if Bauer happened at this point, but they definitely need someone with more durability/consistency. I still think Tanaka would be that person if they wanted him. The Yankees could go with a strength with numbers concept with their rotation. Garcia has options (I'm not sure about German) so they could juggle some of these guys to and from the rotation during the season to keep the innings load in order. Cole Kluber Taillon Montgomery Garcia German Schmidt Nelson Taillon has an option as well. We still have Cessa, too...

Also, how much stock can you put in German's winter ball numbers when you consider that he hadn't pitched since 2019?

So german is more reliable then them....at least he pitched One way to look at it, though most times when an MLB player plays winter ball it’s sort of a showcase to let teams know he’s healthy or can still play. Playing winter ball is not a badge of honor...

No, it means only that you are resting your body in the same manner that 98% of all players do... and that you don’t need the extra money...

Since they have not pitched in a while I suspect they need the money

Since they have not pitched in a while I suspect they need the money There is no one by that make MLB money that needs the money bad enough to play Winter Ball, unless they’ve made a very stupid mistake with their money...
