Nettles or Boyer turn it into a triple play, even with no one on base... Easy, Fella! Step away from the Sweet Baby Rays, Original Recipe. Just put the plastic bottle down and take a breath. I’m telling ya man, I was there. I seen it with my own two eyes. I’ve been around, and I’ve seen a lot of THINGS man. And I remember em, too. I recall one game where Nettles turned a triple play on the lead off batter in the first inning. Freaked the other team out, it did. They never recovered...

Of course the Red Sox get their cheating manager back and now have double digit wins before anyone else.

At least the Astros have lost 6 straight.

So far the Yankees suck. Good teams go 5-9 and bad teams go 9-5 all the time. If it happens mid-season we notice it, but not like we do in the early season. The team is probably better than this, right?
There is a potential issue though. In fact, there are lots of potential issues. Year after year of dumpster diving and fiscal restraint have seen us add a few good players, but only a few.
It’s pretty scary watching Stanton at the plate right now. He’s about a .260 hitter with modest power over his last three seasons, and has only 179 At bats in three seasons. Judge hasn’t been rampaging through the past couple seasons. Look at the Sanchez mess. What is Gleyber Torres? Hicks and Gardner are aging outfielders, and Hicks is made of glass.
Our pitching is pretty good once you get past the majority of the starts, but what about the starters?
This team could actually be going down in flames. It’s happened before and we have a ton of warning flags. We’re depending on several complementary players that we’re counting on to play key roles... and that’s unlikely to happen...

The absurd Stanton contract, 12 million for Kluber and 11 million for Hicks. Even Sanchez isn't worth the 5 million they're paying him. The just haven't made good decisions when it comes to roster construction.

The absurd Stanton contract, 12 million for Kluber and 11 million for Hicks. Even Sanchez isn't worth the 5 million they're paying him. The just haven't made good decisions when it comes to roster construction. I you recall, I’ve been calling for the financial collapse of the sport for years and years. I’ve continued to be wrong throughout that time, which is probably 15 years. Yet, I think the Steinbrenners are for seeing that day as well. It’s a hard game to play, trying to remain a top contender and not bury yourself under stupid contracts. The Stanton deal was a horrible gamble that has obviously not paid off and is unlikely to do so. Dang. Kluber is $12M? Guess I forgot. I’m interested in the baby Bombers as they come into arbitration. If we’re not winning, they have to go... I don’t think we’re at the stage of dilemma like 1965, but I am concerned. In 1998 I figured the team would wake up. In 2021, there is a strong doubt in my mind. I see some good players. I just don’t see a good team...

Inger what concerns me is the team seems to be hungover from the loss 6 months ago it's like a continuation even though it's a new season.

Inger what concerns me is the team seems to be hungover from the loss 6 months ago it's like a continuation even though it's a new season. Baseball has made some significant changes, and many of them are not good. I noticed the Cubs scored 13 runs yesterday, but they went into that game batting .166 as a team. With this three true outcome baseball, you can hit it big, but if you don’t, it’s become a horribly boring sport where you can barely watch your own favorite team at the plate. I think it’s our offensive style, Anthony. Too many sluggers. We need to have at least a couple more DJ types. I hope they get hot soon and prove me wrong, but I think teams gear up for us by taking advantage of our strike outs, shifting their defense because they know we’re not going to punch a grounder the other way. God, I hope Stanton can still hit. If not, we have our own version of Chris Davis for another 7 years...

Stanton's struggles surprise me, because he was so great in the postseason, last year. I expected him to carry that forward to 2021 and I certainly didn't expect to be as bad as he's been.

I never thought I'd be saying it three years ago, but right now Starlin Castro would be more valuable to the Yankees than Giancarlo Stanton.

And maybe Starlin would be able to help with something in this godawful infield... Hell, WOMACK might help this infield... Balls going through the middle and leaking through the holes nearing the corners like crazy. Torres / Odor are not making me think of Tinker to Evers to Chance right now...
