The Spartan General gave up 8 hits in 6 innings, but zero walks! Some nasty conditions to pitch in tonight. I only saw a handful of plays and watched the condensed game (blackout in Dallas). My sister’s partner is a huge Cubbies fan, so I’ve been watching Chicago and the Dodgers at Wrigley Field. Two walk offs in two nights for the Cubs.
One item that has my mind turning: The Cubs did not sign Anthony Rizzo to an extension before the season, so the first baseman may be available after this season. Rizzo is left handed, has a two strike approach, power, can hit to the opposite field, and can pick it at first base. He’s also a great clubhouse guy and fan favorite in Chicago. Maybe Voit and Torres could land a primo shortstop? It’s fun to play GM in your head.

You moving back, Rizz? Or just visiting? Taking it day by day. Hopefully, an opportunity arises. Or, an adventure. My head needs a good shake, or possibly a replacement.

You moving back, Rizz? Or just visiting? Taking it day by day. Hopefully, an opportunity arises. Or, an adventure. My head needs a good shake, or possibly a replacement. Sounds like me. I need to get off whatever ride I’m on and find another one. When it’s your health, options become limited. Every time I think I’m on the right track. Something else happens. I feel certain there is still a lively, vibrant man inside that can prosper again. Just reading the side effects of one of my medications today sure woke me up. Is the cute worse than the disease? Is a longer life a better life? Lots of questions popping up in this head. I think you will find either opportunity or adventure, but most likely one will be tied to the other. Knowing what you’ve shared about Sarah, she’s wanting this for you more than you do, and will be along for the ride...

Each of us has different requirements. But I'm always ready to vote for the change or adventure, especially when you're in the doldrums. Even if it does nothing more than present a fresh set of problems! It's just more invigorating to be a moving target. Keep those corpuscles racing.

Life is always going to win. Be respected for putting up the fight...

I don't know what a doldrum or a corpuscles is but this sounds like solid advise I remember the first time I can recall using the word doldrums. I was unaware of what depression was, but was suffering from it at the time. I was probably 16 or 17 years old. The only other person there was my boss, the store owner, and some 20 years my senior. As we were closing up I told him I was going through a bit of a rough patch that I didn’t understand. As we were finishing up the conversation and heading out the door of the store I said, “I guess I just have the doldrums”... to which he replied, “Well Leon, I hope you get that straightened out. I hate to see you with the DILDRUMS”... That sort of cheered me up for a few minutes... I was able to walk away laughing...
