Chances Higgy steals Romines job?? Zero to None. Barring an injury. Sadly, that also probably applies even WITH an injury. Higgy would be optioned back afterward...I wish we could acquire additional insurance to stash at AAA so we wouldn't be hamstrung...That is the only way to make the change, you know. Pick up a veteran catcher, stash him in the system, demote Romine and see who steals him...then you can have Higgy at the MLB level...So there IS a way...And maybe we'll see that happen at the end of ST when teams start dropping the extra catchers...

Clint Frazier diagnosed with concussion
Clint Frazier has been diagnosed with a concussion.
Frazier suffered the injury while making a leaping catch over the weekend. He told the team that he felt good Monday, but Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that the young outfielder will likely be out for "at least a few more days."

Injuries are going to happen. I think it's early enough that if Frazier is back on the field in a week, he can still get the work in and make the team...

First loss of spring training. McBroom was up as the winning run with the bases loaded with 2 out in the ninth but couldn't get it done. McBroom! Also Stanton had a couple hits and Sanchez had a mammoth HR!

In all honesty.. I think Sanchez is the better all around hitter than anybody else on the team. I'm not the only one to say so.. I think A-Rod and Reggie said the same. I can see Sanchez regularly batting around 300.. with 35 bombs. I don't think Judge will reach a 300 average on a consistent basis.. You know what though? They're both Yankees and both GREAT hitters... debating who's the better hitter is like debating which swimsuit models hotter.. there's no wrong answer... because they're both fucking sexy/studly hitters. Can ya say they're both good with the wood? Anyways, yeah, I can see Sanchez eventually being a TOP 5 MVP candidate year after year after year... building up a solid case for the Hall. More so than anybody else currently on the 40 man roster.. that includes Stanton!!

More so than anybody else currently on the 40 man roster.. that includes Stanton!! That's part of the reason I would love to see Higashioka get a shot in MLB. I don't want Sanchez to wear down so much from catching every day that he can't realize his potential, nor being a tired old war horse before he's thirty and turn into Joe Mauer (with apologies to Mauer, but it is what it is)... If we could keep him to about 110-120 starts per year at catcher, even a bit less if we had a better bat to back him up...he'd last a lot longer (more years at catcher and total career) and he'd likely reach his full potential with the bat. We need him to DH on many of his days off, too... Mauer is not the only example I could have used. There's Johnny Bench. There's Matt Nokes, even Piazza who had to either retire young, or switch positions and lost some of the potency of their offense. Hell, there are dozens of catchers that had offense that suffered for too much time behind the dish...Even Roy Campanella...
