Not really, no. Maybe it’s that neither has ascended to the level of “true Yankee.” I know that was a rather hackneyed phrase bandied about on Yankee forums 15 years ago, but there is a sense that their moment has not yet taken place. |

And, now Gleyber is starting to hit...finally! If Urshela can develop into a good hitter (he wasn’t a natural with the bat), it tells me that abolishing the shift, moving the mound back, etc. is unnecessary. Stop trying to hit home runs and worrying about launch angles; hit the ball where it’s pitched and look to go to the opposite field to provide more time to adjust to breaking balls. Old school hitting. |
