This is a problem when you pull your starter after only 5 innings, the pen has to get 12 outs.

This is a problem when you pull your starter after only 5 innings, the pen has to get 12 outs. Even at 100 pitches, stretch that starter into the sixth. With a 3-0 lead you can afford a base runner on before calling on the pen. Those guys should have no right to getting a clean inning… |
