When I stop to think about it, realizing this was intended to be a short stopping off point while Sports 24/7 got their act back together, I’m amazed that Kaybli and I as a pair have posted over 50,000 times I’m sort of blown away. I know some of you others also now have tens of thousands of posts, as well. And some of you with fewer posts certainly only speak when you have something to say, and that makes me treasure reading you when you join in. I think about the combination of intelligent baseball banter and the interspersed humor and I can’t think of any other forum I’ve ever read that comes close. Maybe the old Penthouse Forums? No. I always figured that maybe one story out of 25 or so was real and the rest were hoaxes or sick fantasies. Seriously, the material within is classic. Thanks again, Kaybli for having the vision to find a way to keep forum life alive. I know you’ve been frustrated that our growth is minimal, but I’ve noticed that many forums on major sites have withered away to almost nothing, and some tgat used to be extremely active have had their participation drop precipitously. Believe it or not, as baseball forums go, this is one happening place!… Something tells me Pipps either has written to Penthouse Forum or knows someone who has? Anyone want to bet against me? I hate to disappoint you Rizz, but to my knowledge I don't know any Penthouse Forum participants. A friend of mine used to date a Rockette. Does that get me any street cred? |

I was kind of thinking Dome as a Penthouse Forum poster… Maybe Tom Marino giggling while typing in his underwear at 3AM… (Try to get that sight out your mind now)…

Just like playing for the Yankees, some couldn’t withstand the environment. It’s not for the weak here, for some reason. Hell, I didn’t think Dome would quit anything, ever. But he wanted “ownership”. One thing no one has ever been able to do is to own the minds of this group. Everyone retains and maintains their own.
Maybe some of the living will return. For all I know some of the deceased may return, too. “Ernesto”, TMarino imitators, other manner of trolls have tried to join. The future holds what the future holds. One day all of our keyboards may go silent. I truly hope that the message we send out will never go dim, that the vibrations created by our presence continue…

So many great photo shops over the years. One of my favorites is the Ellsbury Operation Game and Abreu with the lollypop. Thanks Chi! How was your 20 miler? I’m getting tired just thinking about that! 😆 Edit: I see you talking about it in the gamethread. I’ll ask you there. |
