I didn’t see the game I wasn’t home but it sounds like more Betances drama it sounds like it’s all mental with him. They really shouldn't have pushed him for a second inning.

I was surprised to see him pitching a second inning. And then Boone left him out there for over 40 pitches, which really surprised me...Perhaps he wanted to see how Betances handled himself throughout the struggles of the situation...Other than that, I can't see why he wasn't pulled before Pillar was allowed to own him...

Betances should have only pitched one inning in my opinion. He can be dominating. But, it's usually to start an inning or with no one on base, and even then not for two innings, unless there is a sizable lead and he needs the work. Head case with runners on base.

In his first inning, we saw a miracle when Sanchez threw out an aging base-thief that had an excellent jump. I don't know that there has ever been a more accurate and powerful throw made to take away a more certain stolen base than that one. Betances should indeed only be used for one inning, and there should always be a back up plan if a fast runner gets on base. The Granderson's that are past their prime stealing bases are still going to have success against him more often than not. Only a very slow-footed base runner should be tolerated without removing Betances from the game immediately if he allows a base runner until this situation is adequately addressed. It's quite sad, but Betances will have to retire almost every hitter to have value to the team going forward...
