It was great, albeit short. Lots of laughs with the in-laws (I love my in-laws). I did some kayaking on Seneca Lake-- I haven't done that in years, forgot how much fun it is and how grueling going against the wind-- sailing on Lake Ontario out of Sodus Point, a cool little upstate town -- hit some wineries , celebrated the end of International Negroni Week by making gallons of them for the assembled multitudes -- all-purpose socializing with perfect weather. And topped off by watching you on YES!! And virtually introduced my wife to you. Glad you had a great time. Kayaking on Seneca Lake sounds like an adventure worthy of the Most Interesting Man in the World! Pleased to meet you, Mrs. Pipps. Your husband is a treasure so I'm sure you're pretty cool too! I definitely married above my station. And she is better at kayaking than me, although I make better Negronis. I showed her some of your photoshopping skills and she was duly impressed.

Kayaking on Seneca Lake sounds like an adventure worthy of the Most Interesting Man in the World! Pleased to meet you, Mrs. Pipps. Your husband is a treasure so I'm sure you're pretty cool too! Reminds me of the one conversation I had with MrsG after G passed away. It was interesting to hear her take on life and what she was thinking at the time. MrG had pretty much taken care of everything in their lives up until then. She had to learn it all. Didn’t even know how much money the had or didn’t have. Full of fear, and sadness, but still strong and proud. It’s so interesting that we all have people around us that influence our lives so much. Even the apparent liners speak of grandparents, brothers, neighbors. Life goes on…

Since there is no place to put this, MN up 6-2 bottom of the 5th against the Blue Jays. Three run shot with two outs.

The Yankees now have a full game lead on the Jays for the second wild card with 9 games left to play. Can they hold it?

Tampa Bay will be trying. That’s all they know how to do. They might bench a regular or two. Maybe pull their starter in the fourth. A few late inning replacements. Not trying? Not on your life… They have the hunger…
