We need to split with toronto now to make the play offs. Who knows how well tampa wil do. Beating Houston tonight which is to our advantage but they never seem to lose. Seattle is getting a little too close they need them to lose 1 game to be sure. After they pass Boston, preferably… 🤓

Basically this:
Yankees 90-67 Boston 88-69 Seattle 87-70 leading now lets they they win 88-70 Toronto 87-70 Oakland 85-73 they would be out from passing the yankees and would be 4 behind boston with 4 to play.
So with a win at 88-70 Seattle actually passes Toronto and is 2.5 behind the Yankees. Lets say Seattle and the Yankees both won tomorrow and the Yankees won Thursday (Seattle off) then they are 3 up with 3 to play. Toronto they can eliminate themselves by winning the next 2 because Toronto would be 5 down with 3 to play if that happens, but Seattle if they don't lose a game before the weekend then the Yankees will need to win a game in that Rays series or you give Seattle an outside shot. Now if Seattle passes Boston and the Yankees have to play them at Yankee stadium instead not opposed to that at all, but the Yankees need to have Seattle lose one game here to just insure Seattle isn't going to pass them.

As usual, I really don’t care who we play in the playoffs, as long as we get in and play good, representative baseball. If we can field our best nine, and they field their best nine, and both teams play good, solid baseball. That’s what I want. Then, if you lose, you tip your cap to them and go home. It’s one round at a time, one game at a time, one batter at a time…

Not 100% the case with Seattle if they keep winning.
