If you take away that one bad outing vs. Tampa on 7/29, Abreu has pitched to a “not bad” 3.75 ERA this year. Of course aren’t his runs here. The problem here is that Boonie had to pitch German for a second inning… Abreu had no business pitching in that situation but Boone pulled another starter too early and sometimes we see crap like this. |

Why wouldn't they try? They're professionals. to rest their players for the play offs You only have 28 players on your roster and at least half of them are pitchers. You can't rest that many players at one time. |
