There goes target number one Seager.
Now have to hope for Correa, whom I immensely dislike.

Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth by Yankee fans on Twitter today. Kind of funny. Yeah, there is definitely some angst. But Cashman does have a way of making big moves that aren't necessarily telegraphed. I'm still hopeful that's what will happen here. But some big names are off the board. I suppose I could have mentioned Story when I said it was Correa or bust, but I don't see him getting the kind of deal that Seager got or that Correa assuredly will get. Robbie Ray to the Mariners was a bit surprising to me. The good news is that it diminishes Toronto, which needs some serious diminution.

Seager to the Rangers 10 years $325 million. Ray to Seattle five years $115 million. According to CBS Sports. Did the Rangers not learn anything from the Arod contract?

They learned that after s few years the can dump the player off on the Yankees while they struggle find a way to start another rebuild… 😝

Would you have the guts to pull the trigger on a Sanchez for Stallings trade? Would the Pirates do this? Sanchez could be viewed as a lottery ticket in Pittsburgh… Great fantasy idea: Gallo and Sanchez, plus a MiLB starting pitcher for Stallings and Reynolds… What the Yankees would get: A much needed defensive upgrade at catcher and a nice, average fielding, .300 batting cf with 20+ HR pop. Reynolds could be moved back to LF if Florial proves ready at some point… What the Pirates get: Two power bats, excellent outfield defense in a corner OF slot that may play in CF for them…The power May date their fans while the team rebuilds. I would expect they may want a AA pitcher with a high ceiling rather than attempting to rebuild Deivi, unless he became a throw in to put the deal over the top… www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/11/pirates-trade-rumors-jacob-stallings-yankees-marlins.html

The Marlins got Stallings for Zach Thompson and prospects. Did Cashman forget to set his alarm clock? Is he in a coma? Has he been kidnapped by a drug cartel from some resort in Mexico? Will Los Angeles Dodgers sweep in, sign Correa, and become the Yankees of this century? Will the Anaheim Angels pair Correa with Trout? I expected the Rangers to go for Trevor Story and move Semien to his more impactful position at second base, but with Seager they have outdone themselves improving the middle of their infield, which is what we all hoped Cashman to do.

Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth by Yankee fans on Twitter today. Kind of funny. I must admit to no room to talk. The only difference is I’m not on Twitter.

yanksgoyard.com/2021/11/29/yankees-corey-seager-rumors-rangers-dodgers-pull-stat/“ And about Seager … what, exactly, do the Yankees hate about him? The defense has always been sub-spectacular, and the idea of signing a shortstop to a $300 million contract just to move him to a different position seems a little bizarre, but if any team can shrug off a financial commitment like that, it’s supposed to be this franchise. Surprisingly, his pull stats might actually be the icing on the cake. As Mike Petriello pointed out this weekend, Seager isn’t a sure thing to take advantage of Yankee Stadium’s lefty gift, the short porch. When he hits the ball in the air, he almost never pulls it down the line, which is — at the very least — interesting.”

Well, poop. Back to the drawing board… Hey, you had a great post for six minutes. I see that the Marlins most frequently used catcher last year (Jose Falfardo or something like that) had a Sanchezian NL leading 13 PB in just 61 games last year. Stallings had 0 in 104 games. I’d love to see us get that kind of work behind the plate. If we could clone Jim Sundberg right now, I’d give that clone a 10-year contract just so we didn’t have to ever see Sancheezie back there again. Six minutes of glory beats the heck out of none, right? 😂 …

I figured someone was going to let the cat out of the bag soon enough. There's still the Bryan Reynolds plot to work on.
