Say it ain't so, Country Joe!
Time to throw a party!
Please take Angel Hernandez and C.B. Buckner with you. And bring in the robots!
Hah, I'll miss him like I'd miss a root canal. Who says there's never any good news? Adios pal. With his roly-poly frame I fully expected him to die on the field. It’s better this way. As a retiree, if he has the big one, it won’t delay a game…

I thought I had accidentally picked up a gay porno station for a few seconds…

WE should consider tradeing Chapman (as in my Six Part Rebuild Plan) to either Texas or Blue Jays (see below)--Chapman numbers are/will start dropping = becoming a Retread...Plus a FA at end of this year???

I'd rather throw Gleyber Torres and some prospects at the A's for Matt Olson & Sean Manaea. Then trade Voit to someone that needs a 1B.

Matt Olson is also my preference over Freddie Freeman, mostly because of the difference in age; however, I would not be upset over Freddie Freeman. Both are left-handed and play excellent defense. As I wrote not long ago, Oakland has been trying to find a solution at second base for several years, and Gleyber could be that answer. If Oakland trades Olson, they will also require a first baseman as a replacement, and Billy Beane has never been shy about sacrificing defense if a player can produce power with an ability to work walks. Voit is hardly a budget breaker, either, so he could fit that bill. Still, Oakland shall want prospects as well. I just do not want to trade both Gil and Peraza. One of those two needs to stay in Pinstripes moving forward.

One of them would probably have to be included to get Olson and another starting pitcher. (the left handed Manaea would be my choice) I'd be willing to include Peraza since the Yanks are loaded with middle infielder prospects, including Volpe.

After this trade, sign Story:
1B Olson 2B DJ SS Story (moves to 3B when Volpe is ready) 3B Geo LF Gallo CF Hicks RF Judge C Sanchez DH Stanton
P Cole P Severino P Manaea P Taillon P Montgomery
King, Gill, Nestor and German would be depth and bullpen pieces, although a couple of them could be traded in a search for a CF upgrade.

To me, Medina is a reliever only. Gil is a starter.

That would not surprise me. The offer that Rizzo turned down from Chicago prior to his trade was fair, and I doubt he’d get more from another team. Rizzo was probably the most popular player the Cubs had, and many fans hoped he would return after the trade, giving them prospects and their first baseman back. Similar to when the Yankees traded Chapman to the Cubs and then signed him again in free agency.
