Here's his career spray chart:
Two changes I saw last year were his willingness to got to right (always dead pull before last year), and his willingness to work the BB in the last third or so of the season…

Nope. My faulty memory. I was impressed out of the gate last year when he started drawing bases on balls. I recall talking about it here on the game threads…

Lots better. I knew better though. B-R is notoriously hard to copy and paste from in most situations. I could have erased it, but it’s so exciting to play the fool… sometimes🎶…

I have only one complaint about your posts. There is never enough of them. Thanks for sharing the time you have with us! …

From the NY Post:
“Staring down a completely open left side of the infield with the Braves shifting him, Aaron Hicks laid a bunt down the third base line to take an easy single in the second inning. Hicks said last spring he would consider bunting more to beat the shift, but he did not attempt any bunts in 32 games last season.“

I have a feeling that watching Eine Kleine Nachtmusik will be a blast this season, but I do not expect many of those. That was a slap hitter's home run, on a tee and made to order. His swing is all arms and hand-eye coordination, no real power there, but I do not want him to change: 170+ base hits on the season will do this lineup some good.

Get on base any way you can.

Get on base any way you can. Last season, Hicks also stated that he planned to bunt more, but maybe this is the year he backs up his intention to wanting "to be a problem for pitchers," by taking the ball to the opposite field and not trying to hit home runs every at bat. I still find it difficult to believe that any major league hitter would step into the batters box with that mindset, but someone like Hicks who is somewhere between AAAA and a bench player in my opinion? Madness!

He’s also in a position this season where he could easily lose his job if he doesn’t find some way to increase his value. That can be a great motivator…
